Renne is a princess of the kingdom of Fenrir and the protagonist of Story of Lucethia. She is the acting ruler while its current king and queen remain absent. She claimed the throne from a young age and will one day rule over her people. She is a Spiritist who is skilled with a lance, and someone who fights alongside her soldiers on the battlefield.

Appearance

Renne is a fit young Fenrir woman of above average height. She is believed by her people to be a "beauty", sporting clear blue eyes, and sky blue hair that fades to violet, and is said to "flow like water". 

She wears clothes of complex design, consisting of gold, red and black with elegant details, and covers her midsection just up to her chest, leaving the areas around her shoulder and just between her chest and neck exposed, revealing the royal insignia. Around her neck is a black neck guard adorned with a blue crystal, while her hips are guarded by thick black faulds. Lastly, she sports a white skirt and long white fabric behind her waist that extends down towards her ankles.

The mantle she wears is dark red and graced with soft black fur, while her leg and arm wear is similar to that of her main clothes.

Renne is rarely seen in anything else. However she does own a formal dress for special occasions, as well as a frilly white nightgown that she wears with a dark blue floor length robe. 

Personality

Renne comes off as a very level headed and agreeable person at first glance, but is known to possess a stubborn streak. She is notorious for being difficult to argue with, and many have said it is difficult, if not impossible to change her mind once she is set on something. Despite this, she is caring and strong willed, possessing a virtuous heart and believes that nobles and commoners are one and the same. This belief is so strong that she is known to become angry when a noble or royal abuses their power, and hurts those who cannot defend themselves. 

Although the acting ruler, Renne is not yet queen of Fenrir. Though she detests paperwork and formalities, she keeps them up for the sake of appearances. In reality, she can be rebellious, and often mingles with the people of Fenrir when she can. She is also known to spar with her own soldiers, and will often march onto the battlefield alongside them, stating that "she will not remain behind castle walls while her men give their lives". She is often overly self critical, and has issues believing in her leadership whenever she makes a mistake. 

Renne is typically calm and collected around others, but due to her time outside the palace she lacks proper etiquette when speaking formally, which often leads to some awkward moments when dealing with serious matters. She speaks in more casual tongue, even to other royals and with the exception of very few people she is not afraid to be open. In spite of her outgoing and friendly demeanor, she has confidence issues and will often question her own calls. When she's anxious, has a habit of twirling strands of hair around her finger(s), and will sometimes bite at her lip when thinking. She has a particularly close relationship with Riy Veilheart, and because of a certain incident she often refers to him as "Knight".

Renne is eager to lead her people as queen, but not so arrogant to believe that she is prepared yet. She is comfortable fighting in battle, but losing her men has a significant effect on her. After The Battle of Norfelm Plains, she was visibly weeping on her own in front of the graves of fallen Fenrir soldiers. She is also uncomfortable with allowing close allies to partake in dangerous tasks and genuinely fears that she may lose them if something goes wrong. Thus, when worried or anxious she is prone to making mistakes, especially in battle.

Skills and Abilities

Naturalux: Renne is a Spiritist, meaning she was born with the ability to wield and cast Magic. Thanks to her strenuous studying from a young age, she has a vast knowledge of various forms of Magic and their histories, as well as incantations and how to use them. Though she possesses this knowledge, she's best known for casting Magic that affects the environment and nature, spells that cause natural events such as earthquakes, tidal waves, thunderstorms and the like. This branch of Magic comes from a tome called Naturalux. Her studies have allowed her to learn various tricks as well. From shortening incantations to inverting the casting result, such as changing a wall of water to solid ice, and then promptly shattering it into flying shards. Or propelling herself into the air with wind. That said, she is still young and doesn't have a full grasp on controlling the fluxuation of Mana so she is prone to mistakes at times.

She prefers to save her Magic for serious situations, so normally in combat she wields a lance that she keeps sealed in a mark on her arm. 

As a Wolflian, she also possessive natural athleticism, though hers is above average thanks to her training and she has little trouble crossing distances in a hurry. She also possesses greater hearing than other races, and her sense of smell is heightened.

Although a less prominent trait, she does possess some skill in archery, though it isn't anywhere near the level of her elder sister, and she has stated that she isn't confident in her ability to use it on the battlefield.

History

Renne was born on the 84th day of Hymith, the third Mana cycle of the year. On that night, her parents the king and queen witnessed an insignia carved into her back by bright rainbow lights, marking her as a Spiritist or 'One Gifted with Magic'. From then on it was planned for her to study Magic and become someone who would manage relations with the Spirits. When she became of age to do so, she spent a lot of her time studying Magic and learning how to cast and use it, however in the beginning she was not good at it.

When she turned 7, she began secretly studying the lance with one of the kingdom's instructors. She also developed a crush on the instructor's son, but it never went anywhere and they remained friends. Not long after she turned 8, the then king of Fenrir disappeared while investigating an incident involving Akedime soldiers appearing in various kingdoms. With the queen also being absent as well as her tendency to mingle with the common folk, Renne developed a desire to help the people of Fenrir, and despite being the younger of two daughters, chose to become the true princess who will become queen one day. Her older sister instead chose to work in the military.

As she grew and turned 12, the effort by the imperialistic kingdom of Akedime to annex other kingdoms became more prominent and known, and even stated their intention to kill the leaders of other kingdoms in order to "unite the world under one". Fearing for her safety, her sister and closest advisor sent her away to a trusted friend from another kingdom, where she would remain for several years.

Until the day that word of a boy bearing the mark of Fenrir's royal family made its way to her, and she would move out from the shadows, homebound so that she would meet this boy, and put an end to the conflicts still plaguing the continent.

• Renne Araa means Blooming Hope in ancient tongue, Araa standing for 'hope'. 
• Although she uses a lance in combat, Renne does practice archery from time to time, and can competently wield a bow for sport. 
• She is fond of animals, and even owns several small plush dolls which she keeps on furniture scattered throughout her own room. She rarely bothers to organize, so the room itself is often in disorder.
• Renne is a bookworm at heart, finding any opportunity she can to read various forms of literature on the continent of Enelios. She especially enjoys reading and studying Magic tomes, but despises many romance novels. She believes them to be unrealistic representations of love, and finds them foolish fantasies. Despite this, deep down she wishes to meet someone who can capture her own heart.
