Petrov

Petrov is a sentient monster that takes the form of a monstrous, humanoid creature.
Petrov disguises himself as a priest, and doing this allows him to blend into the forest as an almost-human looking entity, enough to fool any lost soul into approaching him, before unfortunately being eaten.
Petrov is a quiet but observant monster, typically keeping to himself, but can be a bit talkative when in the presence of others. Many monsters in the large Ashspirian forest he inhabits are aware of him, as he interacts with many of the monsters among the forest. His name sparks many conversations, good and bad.

Petrov's body is comprised of many layers. His skin, his muscles/organs/skeleton and the layer which houses the essence of his victims. As one of the monsters that is considered to be "weak", he cannot properly digest what he consumes, and all of his victims are converted into energy and stored under his skin. He cannot gain any weight, and his bones are much more frail than a regular monsters. But because of this, he has to eat far more than a normal monster, similarly to a high-metabolism in a human. 

Petrov's original body, or his true form, is that of a large, snake-like creature. In this form, he has multiple pairs of eyes, insect-like limbs on his waist, larger fangs, and a long, serpentine body with a blade-like tail.
Petrov has his own kind of "venom", used as a defense mechanism. It cannot kill, but it can paralyze parts of the body, rendering them inoperable by the victim. This allows him to eat his prey much easier without them escaping. He cannot swallow humans whole like a regular snake, however.

Petrovs clothing is not real clothing, but is simply a part of his disguise. Removing any part of his clothing, save for his hat, will dissipate in a smoky-like substance. He can easily replace his clothing with an exact replica, as it is merely apart of his form.
Petrov's hat is the only physical piece of clothing he owns, and it was taken from a lone hiker who was travelling through the forest, who was also Petrovs first actual victim, and where the origins of his name come from. Why Petrov decided to keep that name is entirely unknown. 

Petrov, unlike many, if not all monsters, has been through the castle walls and has entered The Kingdom of AshSpire before. How he was able to enter is completely unknown, and foolish monsters who hear of this feat desperately try to find a way to enter, usually meeting the end of a crossbow while on their search.

When alone and inside the house he shares with Ada, Lysander and the others, Petrov loves to cook, and frequently steals from farmsteads in order to craft meals for Ada. How he is able to learn such recipes in unknown, but it is likely he may have spied on humans who were foolish enough to camp out inside the forest.

Petrov also has a secret liking for singing, and sings local Ashpirian tunes, typically from wandering bards or music he hears inside the castle walls. Sometimes, he makes his own lyrics, and often confides in singing alone to find comfort in his own feelings, be it for former lovers or personal stress.

Petrov has a personal rule for himself that he follows, which is that he refuses to kill human women or children. A rule that, unsurprisingly, many monsters ignore. This may be a reason why some monsters in the forest may think of him as a weaker member of the species. 

Petrov keeps many things about him secret, and many rumors about him have spread through other monsters' ears. He is by no means evil, but he is not entirely pure either, and many monsters will remind others of that fact.
Petrov has a humble personality, and means well, but nobody ever has a pure sense of comfort when standing next to him or talking to him, and the aura he gives always feels like something may be off about him. It may just be a hunch, or could be something different entirely. It all depends which monster you ask.
