Tropical Furies

Tropical Furies are a subspecies of Night Fury adapted to live in tropical climates and amid coral reefs. Unlike Night Furies, they typically have bright colors and vivid patterns, though they are still shy of humans. They can cloak by changing the color and texture of their scales, like cuttlefish.

They have weakened firepower, but are strong swimmers and much more stealthy due to their natural camouflaging abilities.

Their main body type matches that of a Night or Light Fury, with adaptations for their differing habitat. A Tropical Fury has a single rigid fin on the back of each leg and on the forehead, instead of the small spikes that a Night Fury has. They have two flexible fins that run along their backs - one shorter fin on the neck that ends at the shoulders, and a taller fin that starts behind the wing shoulders and runs down to the hips - and one running along each side of their jawline. They have rounded wings, hip fins and tail fins, similar in shape to that of a Light Fury, with an additional two small fins just 'in front' of the main tail fins. Younger dragons have an additional fin-like flap connects from the forearm elbow to the rib cage, and from the hind leg's thigh to the underside of the hip fins; this shrinks as the dragon ages and is hardly visible on adult dragons. They have only two 'ears' on their head, and these are rounded. They have five toes on each foot, with the front paws having four 'fingers' and one 'thumb'. Their teeth are retractable, like other Furies, and are slightly more curved to have better grip on prey while swimming.
