There's other islands nearby, of course, and other cats on them. The cats of the Coral Collective get to see them, every so often, when they visit the colder islands or the other cats come to the tropics of this group's home. It's all quite peaceful, with little in the way of border skirmishes (after all, who would want to control water?) or fights, and Barnacle and the others are immensely grateful for that. They're creative cats, thinkers and builders, and if it came to a fight they would be the ones who lost. It isn't often that Barnacle thinks about that fact, though - he's got an optimistic view of things, and thinks that having neighbors is the coolest thing. He'll send cats to the other islands to bring gifts and see what the news is with them, and listen with interest to everything his clanmates have to say when they return. He's very grateful to know them all.
