Past

Riko was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, because his mother was the cousin of the brother of the godfather of New York. His whole life was already planned and predetermined. Nannys instead of being together with his parents. Private schools with other kids who were in his 'league' and he already had a place at a prestigious private university in New York before he could even walk. But Riko grew up to be a depressed rich boy. Who wanted nothing more than to have his mother or father read a book to him before he goes to sleep. He wanted nothing more than the appreciation of his parents, when he had created something on his own. It went so far that he, barely 16 years old, ran away from home and wanted to join the US military. He lied on enlistment and made it through the physical examination as he was quite tall and sturdy for his age. But with such a well-connected family like his, Riko was quickly tracked down and they wanted to bring him back home. With the argument that this country did not deserve to have one of its own familymember sacrificed for. That was the first time in his life that Riko became angry with his parents and cursed the name of his family and the whole rattail that followed him. He broke with his family. Amused, the patriarch had watched it all and had not given him a year before he would come crawling back. Riko took the bet and demanded as a reward that he would be left alone for the rest of his life if he succed.

Riko began his military career, was sent here and there and although all his comrades shunned him, resented him or even sabotaged him (probably because his family had bribed them), he felt comfortable for the first time being far away from home and on his own. One day his unit was ambushed and if Riko had not intervened, all his comrades would have died. It didn't take a day and all the hostility was history. The men became friends and began their journey together through thick and thin. He didn't stay just one year and win the bet, he stayed in the service for several years and worked his way up. When his duty was over, he returned to New York and realized that his family, despite their agreement, would't leave him alone. They made his life very difficult, which made it almost impossible to have a regular job. As a burned child, he finally joined another mafia family that was expanding and joined the Parques. After a short time the leader changed and the daughter Kittie took over the family. Riko was a simple messenger boy in the beginning, but quickly became the personal bodyguard of Kittie, because she was still very young and for most people considered rather an annoying youngster and they wanted to have her out of the way. She wanted to turn the tables and chase all the other Mafia families out of New York or destroy them, the idea pleased Riko and they quickly developed a sexual relationship. It didn't last long because Kittie liked to reorient herself fast and when Kei, a little Japanese boy, joined the family, he became her new lover.

One day Kittie was kidnapped by a corrupt FBI agent who wanted to obtain secret information to break up her cartel and a few others. An extensive search for her began and Kei was the first to find her. He was overpowered and badly injured. Riko eventually managed to storm the building with a few others and free Kittie and rescue Kei as well. Kittie then arranged for Kei to be taken into Riko's care, as Riko had also worked as a medic during his military career. As a result, the two men became closer, very close. They fell in love with each other and yet could tell no one about it. So they continued to live their lives side by side. Kittie ordered Riko to continue sleeping with the prostitute to get information. Even though he tried to pull out of the situation and begged Kittie not to force him to do it anymore. But she didn't let him negotiate with her. The consequence was that Kei followed Riko one day and caught them in the act. Deeply hurt, he ran away, straight into the arms of a Russian gangster who had recently started to build up his territory and land customers. Riko was worried sick because Kei was nowhere to be found, for days everyone in the family searched for him, but it seemed that he had disappered from earth. By chance Zack discovered that Kei was to be sold as a sex slave by that Russian gangster and told Riko.

Riko asked Kittie for help to save Kei. But all negotiations were turned down. Since the Russian gangster, with code name John, had his own plans with Kei. His attempt to auction him off as a sex slave went splendidly, although Kittie kept interfering and prevented that Kei was finally sold. The result was that John himself became interested in Kei and treated him as his personal pet and toy. With the help of Zack, whom Kittie had placed alongside John as a spy, it was finally possible to save Kei. But Kei had changed and showed it clearly to Riko. The two parted ways for a while. Riko left the mafia and started drinking. He had lost his perspective and didn't know what he had done wrong. But there were people who didn't give up on him and so it happened that Aika got him an apartment in the same complex where she lived with her husband. She helped him back on his feet and was there for him. Although Riko didn't want that at the beginning. He also turned down the job offer from Aika's husband Kazuki several times to work as a consultant for the police. Until he met Kei again by chance. He rearranged his life a bit and finally accepted the job. It didn't take long and Kei, who was still working for Kittie, was seriously injured again. And again that Russian gangster John had been to blame. On his own, Riko set out to kill the bastard. He got his hands on him, but just before he could kill him, Kittie stepped in. It turned out that John had been working for her all along, helping her to drive the other mafia clans out of New York. Plus, she had long forgiven him for what he had done to Kei. Riko would have liked to kill them both immediately with his own hands. But he would never have gotten away with it. And who would have taken care of Kei and his little brother Seiji?

Present

Once again a burned child, he left everything behind. Took Kei and left the USA with him. They stayed where it pleased them for while. But Kei never became the same as he used to be and little by little Riko realized that maybe he couldn't help him or be there for him. The last thing Kei did for Riko was to reunite him with his sister Choco and then they parted ways forever.

Riko went back to New York, opened a small car repair shop and sometimes worked as a consultant for the police. Kazuki became his best friend, although the two had their initial difficulties. Criminals and Cops don't always get along well. One day a young man stood in front of Riko's workshop and looked at him with big green eyes. When Riko spoke to him, he quickly disappeared. But the next day he was there again and also on the following day. Finally, the young man came to the workshop and handed Riko a letter. He opened it and read the contents carefully. The letter came from a woman with whom Riko had had a brief relationship years ago and apparently a child had been born. And this child was now the young man who stood before Riko. He introduced himself as Matthew. Riko had a lot of problems with what the letter and Matthew told him and yet he couldn't help but notice that Matthew looked a lot like him and he also remembered the young woman he had made out with who now claimed that Matthew was his son. In short, he let Matthew work for him to get to know him better. But it turned out to be extremely difficult because Matthew was rather the extroverted type and was bursting with energy. Riko had become rather rough and grumpy over the years and one could not approach him so easily anymore, which of course made it difficult to get into conversation with Matthew and also with the customers who came to the car workshop. But Matthew was ahead of the game and took over everything that had to do with the customers, the conversations and the test drives. When there was no customer in the workshop, Matthew helped his father repair the cars and Riko was grateful for that. Even if he couldn't show him well at first. The first big fight between them came when Matthew brought his girlfriend Kendra to introduce her to his father. He didn't want to hear anything about love anymore and chased the two lovebirds out of the house. He lived in peace all these years and hadn't brought anyone else into the house. Still there was the one or other quick number. But there were no feelings involved. Riko's sister Choco and Aika finally smoothed the waters between him and his son again and he allowed him to bring his girlfriend from time to time. It wasn't Mattys fault that he had suffered trough so much crap.

As time went by, one or the other gangster approached him, because he still carried a very well-known last name and people knew about him. Although Kazuki had illegally deleted his files. But Riko rejected everything, no matter how tempting the offers were. He didn't want to have anything more to do with all these dubious business and machinations...
