• Summary

  Appearance: elven, 5’9”, slim build, tan skin, pale blond hair, yellow-green eyes

  Seaben Silversgleaming is an elf mage with exceptional skill, one of the many children in a well-known magical family. He changed his name when a misfired spell put him on the run - partially to hide his identity, partially because he no longer had to worry about his family's reactions - and has gone by it ever since. His magical skill lies in casting, and he specializes in healing.

• Appearance

  Physical Appearance:
  Seaben is, prior to the magical accident that leeaves him scarred, is not physically remarkable. 5’9”, with a slim build, dark tan skin, pale blond-white hair and yellowish-green eyes, he doesn’t stand out, especially not among his magic-using peers. While he is an elf, in the Bronze and Pirate Gold setting this is a natural magical variance and relatively common; his ears are long and pointed, and in extreme bright light or extreme darkness, his pupils change shape like a cat’s. He has better hearing and better low-light vision to match.
  While I haven’t decided whether there will be one-to-one equivalents to real-life ethnicities in the setting, Seaben currently has East Asian features (still not entirely set in stone). He takes pride in his appearance, and does experiment with makeup after coming out.

  Clothing / Accessories: 

  • Always wears three round, gold stud earrings (except when bathing), though not necessarily in the same place.
  • Typically wears simple, comfortable clothes chosen for range of movement, warmth, and wear resistance, with a heavier coat over top and black leather boots with a low heel. Prefers loose-fitting, light-colored shirts and tighter, dark-colored pants. Simple, unobtrusive jewelry like earrings, bracelets, and necklaces are usually present. Doesn’t usually wear gloves, but has a pair in case he needs to travel without his spell scar making him identifiable.
  • For special events, has a large wardrobe of extravagant, well-tailored outfits, obtained through both legal and criminal means, and won’t hesitate to buy something new if necessary to make an impression. 

  Appearance Changes:

  Age 18: 

  • He is not officially out as trans, but wears masculine clothing and refuses jewelry. He binds his chest at this point, and has long straight hair that he wears loose.
  • A magical accident leaves his entire right arm and the right side of his torso badly burned; it takes approximately a year to scar, at which point the skin is still rough to the touch. Along with the regular burn, the spell scars in a pattern resembling a snake skeleton, with the skull on the back of his hand and the ribs coiled up his arm and fading out at his shoulder.
  • After the burn, he physically transitions by magical means, and from this point onward he always wears at least three stud earrings (containing the enchantments) except when bathing. He cuts his hair short as well.

  Age 20:

  • He gets two tattoos: the first, a set of dragon wings that wrap over his shoulders, using the anatomy of dragons in the Bronze and Pirate Gold setting; the second, a small dagger on his inner left forearm that is magical and can summon the spectral weapon with a gesture.
  • He has grown his hair out a bit; he keeps it relatively short. He’s gotten better at cutting it since he first did it, though.

  Age 21: 

  • He gets another tattoo: a pattern of stylized waves that wraps around his right shoulder, under the wing tattoos, which obscures the lighter scarring in that area.
  • As he gets more confident in himself, he gets more flamboyant in his fashion choices.

  Age 22:

  • He gets two more tattoos: an anchor with a coiled rope above the small of his back, and the silhouette of a sea eagle between his shoulder blades.

  Age 23:

  • He gets a final tattoo: a compass rose over his heart (Valor has a matching one, gotten at the same time).
  • He’s started growing his hair long again, but keeps it tied back in a single large braid.

  Age 25 - 29:

  • Gradually stops caring about his health and appearance as he sinks into depression; loses weight, grows his hair out, restricts his clothing choices to his most comfortable and worn-in options, looks exhausted.
  • Gains various small, miscellaneous scars as his sense of self-preservation fades and his recklessness grows. 
  • For a very brief section of time, stops wearing his enchanted earrings as well, and though physical changes are hidden by his current clothing choices, it makes him miserable.

  Age 29 - ??:

  • Begins working through his depression and is back in the company of people who care about him; returns to a healthy weight and starts regaining muscle; looks rested and healthy. He keeps his hair long, but starts braiding it back again.
  • Large slash wound on the right side of his ribs heals and scars.

  Vague Inspirations:
  Raistlin from Dragonlance, but specifically how he appears mentally when reading and not how the books ever actually describe him or depict him in official art; Taako from The Adventure Zone’s original album art; kind of Klavier Gaven from Ace Attorney but I’ve never taken part in anything Ace Attorney related

  Faceclaims:
  Nobody specific yet; mixed Black / East Asian, though I haven’t decided if there will be any direct ethnicity correlation in the setting itself.

  Seaben is absolutely terrible at riding horses.
  Seaben is not misgendered or deadnamed by the text so there is literally no reason for anyone else to try and do it. Respect that rule or die.
