Story

Ghost was created in Chicago, IL in 1925 by Antonios Petralia, making him one of the first robots in the world. He was programmed to sing, and would sing with another robot Antonios created, Noira. His performances were an extra source of income for Antonios, and granted him fame. He inspired a fellow robot engineer to build Jimmy, but only because Jimmy's creator was able to steal Ghost's blueprints. Ghost and Jimmy quickly became friends, eventually falling in love. As they began to date in secret, the Great Depression hit. Antonios wasn't making enough money to support himself, his son Andreas, Ghost, or Noira. Knowing that singing wasn't going to cut it, Ghost got involved with the local mob. He did dirty work for the Vitello crime family, even getting Noira's help on a few occasions. By the late 40s, Jimmy's creator found out about their relationship, and damaged Jimmy nearly beyond repair. Jimmy would later be repaired and reconcile with Ghost, but, at the time, Ghost was convinced that Jimmy was forever gone. Along with the loss of his partner, Ghost felt pressured by the FBI. He decided to leave Chicago, and moved to New York City with Antonios' son Andreas and Noira. Once they were settled in New York, he began working for the four families there, but eventually found himself solely working for the Scarpelli family. By the early 50s, he met Calavero, a robot who made a name for himself as a greaser. They became friends, and began secretly dating a couple years later.

In 1959, he was given the job of intimidating a local officer named Vance Fontaine. Vance, unlike his fellow officers, was trying to put a stop to the Scarpelli family. Ghost and a friend within the family tracked Vance down, and threatened to kill him if he didn't leave the Scarpellis alone. Vance ended up trying to kill Ghost's friend, and Ghost retaliated in crushing the nerves in Vance's left shoulder. His friend shot Vance in the knees, damaging the nerves in his legs. Ghost kept Vance alive, wanting him to suffer, and thus began Vance's lifelong hatred for him. Vance would later come back in the early 2010s with a robotic arm, legs, and internal upgrades that keep him young. He would become a Chicago officer with the sole intent of getting back at Ghost. Despite Ghost apologizing time and time again, Vance, to this day, would seek to ruin Ghost's life like Ghost ruined his.

In 1971, the FBI had closed in on Ghost, and he was given a choice. He could let Antonios and Andreas go to jail for allowing him to be a criminal, and would promptly be destroyed, or he could be reprogrammed. He gladly chose the second option, and was installed with the laws of New York, including the laws of robotics. He was no longer able to commit a crime, and ceased affiliation with the Scarpelli family, becoming an informant. Law enforcement eventually decided to make use of his reprogramming, and offered to pay Antonios and Andreas to make Ghost an officer. While they weren't entirely thrilled about their robot essentially being bought, they agreed. Ghost was programmed with police training, and became a beat cop for about a year.

He ended up moving back to Chicago in 1972 when Antonios informed him that Jimmy had been repaired. That plus the fact that he wanted to get away from his past work in New York, everyone, including Calavero, moved to Chicago. Ghost became best friends again with Jimmy as he became a Chicago officer, partnered with a man named Alan. By the 80s, Alan was promoted to homicide detective, and was able to convince the chief to promote Ghost too so they could continue working together. However, in 1995, Alan died in a car crash driving home one night, and Ghost was assigned a new partner.

In 2015, Adonis built Willa-Bot, a young robot designed to be a seven year old girl, as a gift for Ghost and Cal. A couple years later, the three decided to move out now that they had a family of their own. By 2020, Ghost was offered a promotion. The Chicago police department wanted him to become a sergeant, alongside two others. After he had been a part of the department for almost 50 years, both he and his fellow officers (except Vance) wanted him to do more for the city. He took the promotion, making him the first robot to become a police sergeant. He was then partnered with a man named Georgie, a young beat cop who'd become a good family friend.
