| Personality: Shizuki is fairly demure and quiet. She avoids conflict when she can and keeps her head down. Very much the type of person to not rock the boat unless she absolutely has to. While she certainly can be very emotive she often reserves that for private moments where she doesn't have to worry about other people seeing, and as a result, judging her. Shizuki can on occasion though bottle up her emotions. Often she does this unintentionally but once she does start it is just a matter of when they build up to the point they go off. And it is a matter of when not if. A particular thing could bug her for days, weeks, months, even years before she fully articulates it and even when she does let it all out that doesn't mean she lets it all out. While not a monotone it does tend to have a similar quality to one in public situations or when she doesn't really know a person. When she feels comfortable around someone she's more likely to be more vocal and emotional. Even going so far as to be quite animated when she's dealing with someone she trusts. Along with that Shizuki rarely swears but will occasionally go off and swear like a sailor if given the right circumstances. Interview Who are you? "I am Shizuki Kishi. My parents are Touma Kishi and Janice Kishi." Can you tell me a bit about yourself? "I am currently studying to be an electrical engineer at Lakeside Community. I will transfer out in time. I'm just going there for my bachelors. I live with Vardah Lasout she is my...roommate. We have been living together for a few years now. I enjoy living with her. A lot. She is very important to me. Other than that? I was born in San Francisco and I am a second generation Japanese-American immigrant." What is your orientation? "I would like to not answer this question. If there isn't going to be a record of my statement I will answer to the best of my abilities but if there is I would like to not answer this question." How old are you? "Twenty-Three. I apologize for my tone. I get asked that a lot. As well as exactly how tall I am." How tall are you? "...Four foot, eleven inches." How many languages do you speak? "English and Japanese primarily. My parents are immigrants so I had to learn both growing up. My grandparents don't speak English. I'm in the process of learning Arabic and Indonesian. I know more than most and could probably hold my own but it is evident that I am still just learning the languages." Do you have any family? "My parents. Who I have mentioned before. A cousin. Mackenzie...And a sister. Asami...Next question please." What about friends? "Most of my friends are people from my guild or the people on campus I talk to a little bit more than others. There aren't many I would go out to have coffee with. I guess there is Mal. I would like to change my statement. Mal's my friend." What do you do for a living or what do you want to do? "Programming or avionics technician. Both pay well enough but I feel I would probably be more comfortable with the former than the latter. If just because of the possible applications of my work." Are you religious? "No more than most people I would believe. I attend church on Christmas and Easter with my parents and on occasion I observe things like Ramadan with my girlf- my roommate Vardah." Are you seeing anyone? "...Yes. Let's leave it at that. Next question." Do you have any favorite foods? "It's a dish called Lakso. It's a soup, kinda spicy, made with noodles, curry, some coconut, and fish. It was made for me once when I was sick and maybe that's why it's my favorite, good memories and all, but it also just tastes good." What do you do for fun? "I play WoW. I make things. I cosplay. I design. I do stuff, I guess. A good movie can be nice sometimes. Don't have a lot of time to sit down and watch them though. Other commitments." | Masao Kishii | Grandfather - Deceased | Shizuki didn't know much about her grandfather. Something that was somewhat intentional given his frayed relationship with his son and her father. As such they're family but at the same time strangers. Shizuki, at times, couldn't help but feel a bit unwelcome around the man. Something that became exacerbated when she moved in with her grandparents at her grandmother's insistence but in hindsight she has taken to believe he just wasn't good with people in general and the few times they did spend extended time together were his way of trying to help. An example being often taking her with him whenever he had to do business as a way of getting her out of the house. It was after the man passed that Shizuki learned why, a fairly traditional man like him, was accepting of her and later her girlfriend, in that following, effectively, losing one of his grandchildren, waiting and hoping for Asami's return until his death, he had resolved to be something of a welcoming presence even if he couldn't properly show it. Shizuki had a complex relationship with her grandfather and while she didn't like him she also didn't hate him either when he was alive but following his death she has nothing but respect and thanks for the man. |
| Michiko Kishii | Grandmother | Shizuki, growing up, was deeply adored by her grandmother, with regular calls to the house to hear about any interesting tales about all her grand children; not just Shizuki. Although, Shizuki didn't know these phone calls doubled as a way of maintaining contact with both sides of the family since her father and grandfather were barely on speaking terms. Something that would unfortunately come in handy down the line. After Asami being disowned and kicked out, Shizuki entered something of a depression, and it was at that point that her grandmother managed to convince her parents to let her come live them for a bit as a way of "moving on" but in truth it was her grandmother just wanting to make sure she was cared for, a move that, indirectly led to Shizuki meeting Vardah the love of her life. Shizuki and her grandmother regularly talk, at first with monthly calls, but following the death of her grandfather they have been upped to happening weekly. Shizuki loves her grandmother and is thankful for her presence in her life. |

| Fabian Blackwall | Girlfriend's Boyfriend | When they first met, Shizuki utterly loathed Fabian for mainly two reasons, one was a general sense of losing Vardah that, while not true, felt real enough and the second being just how short a period time it had been since those two met before Vardah came wanting permission to date him. While her first instinct was to send him off due to that hostility she agreed to the three of them getting to know each other over dinner. Something that didn't go well at first either. The night was about to end when Fabian spotted a karaoke bar managed to convince the two to come in and sing and have a few drinks although Shizuki mostly partook in the latter. Drinking heavily she was hardly herself when, during when Fabian was singing to Vardah, she came on stage, snatched the microphone from him, and tried to take over the song. Fabian didn't mind and soon enough it was a duet with the two serenading Vardah together though Shizuki didn't know any better. Waking up the next morning with a splitting headache she saw that Vardah had recorded the two of them singing but what struck a cord with Shizuki the most was that she was cheering them both on equally. After seeing that and feeling the fear that she was losing Vardah soothed she gave permission for Vardah and Fabian to date. Since then the two have occasionally had an awkward conversation here or there, bonded over media occasionally, and have slowly start to move from strangers to at least knowing more about each other. While there was some initial one-way animosity, and at times Shizuki is a little jealous, they are starting to become friends. |
| Archer Zhu Huang | Professor | When they first met? The two of them didn't exactly get along. With Shizuki believing that he was somewhat uptight and strict and with Archer, well, being just that. They rarely said more than ten words to each other in the course of a week, if that, however things got a bit complicated. Following Vardah and Archer becoming friends with benefits, Archer treads carefully when dealing with Shizuki, not knowing what sort of dirty laundry she might have on him; to her credit is a decent amount. The regular professional curt conversations have become somewhat awkward small talk as both of them make it clear whenever they talk that they want to avoid rocking the boat or things getting awkward. While they try to keep personal and school life separated and have a typical student-teacher relationship? They are fully aware how complex and at times awkward their current situation can be and try to keep their distance. |
| Mal Last-Name-Unknown | Friend | Following settling into town, Shizuki went about finding people and places in town she could or had to go to for necessary services. It was by sheer luck that her insurance accepted a dental practice that was somewhat close to her home. It was during her first cleaning at the place that she met Mal and the two bonded when Shizuki spotted and admired the craftsmanship of a doll that Mal had made. The two began to have longer and longer conversations whenever Shizuki came in until Shizuki offered to take Mal to lunch. Almost instantly they bonded and became close friends but soon enough Shizuki saw in Mal something she couldn't really get from anyone else. Following a tense phone call to her parents Shizuki began to let out all the various things that had been stressing her out and to her surprise Mal didn't only seem unbothered, although Shizuki was apologetic, for the vent but offered friendly and helpful advice. It isn't too uncommon for their hang outs to have a moment where Shizuki lets out everything she's been bottling up since the last time they met and its done wonders for her mental health becoming the second person she actually feels she can trust enough to talk about personal things like that with. They are practically each other's best friend and Mal is one of the few people Shizuki feels comfortable venting her problems too. |
Trivia
⭐Shizuki's nickname, Sev, comes from her main RP character in World Of Warcraft, her Forsaken ranger, Sev Darkwater, and was given to her by her girlfriend Vardah following an attempt by Shizuki to get Vardah to play with her that didn't pan out.
⭐Shizuki's height is something she only gets self-conscious about when it is directly brought up or mocked. Only one person has, for lack of a better word, permission to tease Shizuki about her height and that would be Vardah although some exceptions have been made for Shizuki's cousin Mackenzie.
⭐Shizuki's short stature has a few possible causes, one being genetic given most of her family is on the shorter end, but also reasons that could be considered self-inflicted and the latter is why Shizuki tends to be sensitive about her height. Viewing it as a possible indictment of herself and her past actions rather than something out of her control.
⭐Shizuki, being a former church choir girl, has an exceptional, even heavenly, voice. She could easily move people to tears completely by accident. However, she almost never does sing in part because she doesn't think she is all that good as well as the fact she doesn't like the additional attention that comes her way as a direct result.
⭐Shizuki is a massive fan of camp and schlocky horror movies from the 40s and 50s, between the interesting trivia such as the first appearances of famous actors or effects or creatures, to laughing at the bad acting, bad shot composition, and bad everything? They have always brought a massive delight to her.
⭐Shizuki has a box of her sister's things, and reminders of her, mostly things she was able to ferret away before the rest were given/thrown away. She is extremely protective of this box. Viewing it as the only remaining and tangible markers of Asami's existence in the face of her parents actively trying to forget she existed.
⭐Shizuki's a fan of the paranormal, in particular ghosts, a fascination she developed when she was younger in the hopes of, at the time, communicating with the dead but has since evolved into a general fascination. Much to the disapproval of her religious parents.
⭐Shizuki is an incredible craftswoman and machinist able to take apart and build just about everything she might need to. From assembling her gaming computer by herself, to extremely high quality cosplays, to her general engineering work? She's good at not only making things work but work while looking good.
⭐Shizuki has a few crushes on fictional women and in particular on Sylvanas Windrunner of World Of Warcraft fame. The character not only being one of the primary things that let her push through the bulk of her grinding in-game but also the first thing she cosplayed as and went to a convention in. On occasion, when lacking a new property she wants to dress up for, she'll make an updated and improved version of that initial cosplay.
⭐Shizuki has almost a preternatural ability to know exactly when something offensive is going to be said, often times leaving approximately thirty seconds before whatever is going to be said is said, so she could be out of the room when it happens although she doesn't do this intentionally; it seems more like a happy but consistent coincidence.
