It was once said that Death was lonely,
and that in her loneliness she crafted the Fax, the Firebrand.
These men and women, born upon demise, would guide souls to Death,
so that she at least might not be lonely.
It was said that they stood with one foot in life and one in death,
that they walked between the worlds but lived a half life
forever hungering for what they'd left behind.
