Torao Ise

Growing up, Tora saw little of his parents. Living in a large penthouse zone of one of the upper class scrapers he rarely had contact with other children and his parents were often out either working or seeing respective lovers. When he saw his parents his mother mostly ignored him saying how he had ruined her body and modelling career, how he wasn’t even a girl so couldn’t make it up to her by following in her footsteps and earning a good wage to pay her back. His father was often drunk at home and when not arguing with his equally strong willed mother would turn his issues onto Tora. Quite often he ended up seeing the buckle of his father's belt or knuckles. His father was involved in mafia activities and was a prominent figurehead within the corrupt Cardinals Group.

He was home schooled by a tutor named Jin from around the age of five until he was old enough to go to Junior school. Jin was his first close, positive relationship and Tora got unnaturally attached to him, so when it came to separating he became violent toward his father and even his mother. Jin always saw Tora as just a student and seemed to hold no real lingering attachment which also made the youth feel rejected and betrayed - another reason he struck out at his parents. This outburst led to his father sending him to the hospital with broken wrists and a fractured jaw.

By the time Tora started Junior School at the Shuiyidan boarding school he had developed a nervous food avoidance issue and had been in fights often. His roommate was another troubled youth by the name of Lyriik and after initially having a prickly relationship they soon warmed to each other and became close. Both had come from broken homes and they found solace in each other for the short while they were there. Both tended to self-harm, though in different ways. Lyriik would cut himself, and though Tora did also on occasion his preferred method was fighting - usually people stronger than he - and not eating.

Tora and Lyriik shared a mildly intimate relationship. But eventually their relationship became strained as their individual troubles started to make things stressful. By the time they left Junior high school they hardly spoke.

After leaving school Tora didn’t return home, his parents had split up without his knowledge and his father had already had another son with his new mistress. Seeing no more need for 'the broken one' his father had signed a dodgy deal with the government which resulted in Tora being taken to a secret government facility on one of the lunar colony sections that was off limit to normal citizens. Whilst there he was experimented on within their DNA splicing program, altered genetically and used to test resilience to things like radiation. It often made him sick and delirious and eventually he was to be transferred to another section of the facility for military training and compliance therapy.
