Kelvariat

Bio

Kelvariat, also known as Kelv, is a pale red dragon and a loner; as a dragon pirate with a hidden coastal lair, she spends the majority of her life disconnected from both humanoid and dragon politics, interacting mainly to raid ships in dragon form and later sell off the stolen goods in humanoid form. Her family's territory is a small one, and she has many older siblings, so she dropped the surname to live a less restricted life. As one of the few dragons who can show their true form frequently, she's a controversial member of dragon society for her brashness; she's happily willing to settle any disagreement with how she lives through a physical or verbal spar.

She enjoys arguing as a pastime, and her self-assured arrogance could, with some generous usage of the word, be called endearing.

In Bronze and Pirate Gold, she is 25 when introduced, through 29.

Appearance

• Dragon Form

In her true form, Kelv is 14'6" (at age 29), and is longer and lighter than El or Vyl due to her coastal heritage. She is light red with golden-yellow eye-shaped markings (and a few scattered, elongated spots), and her belly scales are dark red. Her fin and wings are both longer and narrower than Vyl and El's, also from her coastal blood, and fade from light red to light orange and are marked with light yellow rings. Her eyes are gold. She has two crest horns that are sharply zig-zagged, four jawline horns that are elongated by golden caps, and the two chin spikes that denote her age; all of their horns are dark red. She has golden caps on her lower canine teeth, purely for the aesthetic. Her left hind leg is amputated slightly above her knee, but it doesn't interfere with her movement.

I put her as half-siren originally but maybe just human works? Half-siren would have some scaling and little fins but I think she might be rocking it already

Notes:
Overlaps a lot with Seaben personality-wise because they’re both cocky and the gray zone between butch and twink is even fuzzier when one of you wasn’t born with a gender. Dresses to impress women and doesn’t really give a damn about anyone else’s perception. Picrew is more modern than she would probably dress in canon but hey, yknow, fuck around and have fun.
Her left leg is amputated just below the knee; she doesn’t usually wear a prosthetic (difficult to carry between the dragon-human transition, and dragon form doesn't need one) but she has a crutch shaped like a folded dragon’s wing, modeled after her own. It’s a quiet dare to Vyl to mention it whenever they’re in human form, but he can’t say shit bc he used his own wings as a reference for Seaben’s tattoos.
Picrew notes: Wouldn’t actually smoke, but it was the only option in the picrew that looked gay enough. Whether or not her pupils are that reflecty green color or just normal is still a mystery to me so have fun.
