Personality: A mixture of charm and intelligence, a good mixture of street and book smarts. As a business owner, she balances out everything well and knows how to interact with business partners and customers. Having previously been associated with some “darker” sources however gives her an edge and a threat to anyone posing a challenge. The only downside is that she can indeed get highly emotional if provoked enough, the only thing separating her ability to persuade. She’s a bit more unsteady than what she used to be, especially after laying the egg she didn’t want, but is slowly getting back on her feet again to return to the normal intelligent dragon they know her as.

LORE/BACKSTORY

BIRTH/GROWING UP: Chateau was born to an absent father and a very pathetic mother who only focused on her illegal businesses and getting wasted with other dragons. She had hookups quite often, so Chateau stayed outside of the house a lot and did her best to make herself scarce. However, Chateau got an anonymous scholarship that covered the cost of schooling when she was old enough for it, and she went to school under a business degree. She met her friends Xo, Deadrose, Mulholland, and Panacea while she was there, closer with Deadrose than the others but still appreciating them. After Deadrose ran away, however, Chateau was very dejected and less inspired, losing a bit of her ground especially after Mulholland left as well. When Panacea was forced to move away, it was just her and Xo left. They continued to be friends and had a fling, but when she graduated she left Vale without another trace and went to Lakeview, not even taking a chance and leaving almost everything behind including her mother.

LAKEVIEW/BLACK MARKET: Chateau builds a small business first on the outskirts, but eventually gains traction and is able to buy her first casino in Lakeview, which eventually leads to the very popular casino that only continues to flourish under her lead. She finds Pragma, a journalist and aspiring writer, who she grows fairly close with as friends as she helps her business flourish from the good reviews she publishes. She does, admittedly, get into the black market business that helps her pay for the casino, but she’s very calculated and is quick to remove anyone who threatens her or pose as a danger to her or her business. During this time she had brief meetings with Curse/Crane, getting an off feeling from her but never getting to know her much besides their small business errands that had them run into each other. Novocaine was another dragon she had the unfortunate time of meeting; he approached her one day and asked for blood samples out of genuine intrigue, but she refused it. She was knocked out later and tested on, revealing their half-blood relation, but Chateau was vehement and detested him, saying she wanted no part with him before fleeing. 

DEADROSE REUNION: Eventually, years later, she reunites with Deadrose in a happy reunion. They hang out and Chateau helps her get an apartment despite Deadrose’s protests, but they both hung out a lot more as Chateau kept expanding her business and Deadrose kept loafing around. They both get involved in a bit of black market deals, but Deadrose doesn’t stay for long. Chateau leaves soon after her, paying off the rest of her debt before wiping her name off the market. Chateau catches some small fluttering feelings for Deadrose probably around this time, most likely revived from when they were dragonets, but suppresses them enough that she doesn’t remember them.

XO LORE: Chateau finally asks about why Deadrose left since she hadn’t asked before, and Deadrose opens up about the abuse she had to face. Chateau is distraught, upset she didn’t know about this but understanding her silence and encourages her to reunite with Xo since she recently saw him in a court case. Deadrose hesitates, but is eventually encouraged as they start on the hunt for Xo. They’re told he’s gone missing, however, and they join up with Isohel, Lakeview, and Coventry to look for him. Chateau and Deadrose join Isohel when she tracks down Hymn’s base camp, and they help her burn it down and kill the dragons in there. Coventry doesn’t have much sympathy considering she didn’t know them and she’s done business like that before. Panacea and Sedona join, along with Mulholland revealed as well and giving them a brief reunion before they part ways again. Throughout this whole thing, however, dragons have been questioning Chateau about her relationship with Deadrose, and she realizes her feelings she’s been suppressing during this time. When they all rest up in Luton, her and Deadrose hook up and realize their feelings for each other but agree to not do anything until Xo is found. They kill some time and leave the hunt for a bit to go watch Mulholland’s case, in which she and Sedona help in the murders of the dragons threatening to jail Mulholland due to his murders. They’re found out, but Deadrose doesn’t hold anything personally towards Chateau since she knows how business is ran.

XO RESCUE: Chateau and Deadrose find themselves in Aeston with Hau, Fumes, and Zucker eventually after hearing about Zucker’s awakening. They get some strike of luck out in a festival one day with Hau, however, and find Hymn with Xo. Chateau is set up to be the distraction, and she gets sparklers that blind the guests and allow Hau and Deadrose to steal Xo away and almost catch Hymn until the police go for Chateau instead, arresting her briefly before she’s bailed out. Deadrose explains that she’s going to be with her brother for a bit in healing, and Chateau understands as she goes back to work in Lakeview, where she finds Mulholland that she offered the job to. She’s happy to see him, and they start working together.

MULHOLLAND/EGG: Her and Mulholland grow closer as time goes on and Deadrose hasn’t returned, which Chateau masks by hooking up with Mulholland when they’re a bit tipsy. She doesn’t have any feelings for him at all, however, and lets him know as soon as possible that she doesn’t have feelings for him but still enjoyed the night with him. He gets a bit bitter, especially when Deadrose returns and her and Chateau go on a date and almost make things official but she’s snappy towards him and threatens to fire him if he lets this affect his job, which he slowly gets over and focuses up again and stays friends with them. It takes a few weeks, however, of Chateau feeling ill and isolating herself to realize what’s happened- and she eventually lays an egg that’s the product of hers and Mulholland’s hookup. When they return from Panacea’s graduation in Vale, she’s very determined to not let them find out about the egg, but eventually does get found out by the both of them. Mulholland wants to keep the egg, but Chateau is very angry and bitter and snaps that a murderer isn’t a good dragon to be a parent, which hurts him deeply and he leaves. Angry, Deadrose leaves as well and goes back to her brother’s to cool down. Mulholland visits her the next day, and they do eventually talk it out and make up, but Chateau is still certain that neither of them are fit to be parents and Mulholland hesitantly agrees to her decision. She goes a bit behind his back, however, and tosses the egg into the river on a small log, not expecting the egg to last and secretly hoping it cracks because the drama is too much. Deadrose eventually comes back, more calmed down, and the three of them start to hang out again and resume their normal friendships and her normal flirting with Deadrose. In this time frame, she also meets up with Sedona a few times and gets her casino business expanded out to Sandy Hollow and potentially Wellspring since it is booming and popular.

ELSEWHERE: Elsewhere comes to visit, telling his story when meeting with Chateau and making her realize they’re half-siblings through their awful father, the one that provided her the pity money for her to go to school. She explains her story and hears Elsewhere’s; his mother was cheated on because he slept around, but he still went to the school because their father didn’t even know he existed. They travel around a bit to gather information to build up a case, hanging around Lakeview a bit and Elsewhere making Mulholland flustered before heading out again, saying he’ll see Chateau sometime soon for the trial she agrees to go to.

WEDDING/EGG DRAMA: They’re invited to Zucker and Fumes’ wedding, Chateau inviting Deadrose as her guest since they were in a good spot and Chateau was going to soon ask her to be her girlfriend. Her plans were shot, however, as the egg she threw out turns up and was taken by Fumes and Zucker instead, causing Deadrose to ask her what she did and Chateau finally admitting the truth since she didn’t want to lie anymore. This backfires, however, and Deadrose yells at her angrily and denies any sort of future with each other before leaving. Chateau then turns to yell at Mulholland, saying he ruined her life by hooking up with her and she’s firing him before leaving the wedding as well, heading back to Lakeview.

THERAPY/FATHER: Chateau is convinced by Elsewhere to stay around in Glencloud, however, and to go to Hau’s therapy despite her protests. Her first session is with Mulholland, where they both finally let out a lot of their internal insecurities and fears. Hau brings in Fumes and Zucker with their egg, letting Chateau and Mulholland say hello and goodbye to it before their session ends. Chateau does apologize to Mulholland, and they both leave on better terms, Mulholland still leaving to go do his own thing in Ridgepool for a bit. The next day, Chateau and Deadrose are put together in therapy to talk things out. They have a more bittersweet ending, agreeing that right now wasn’t a good time to be together and going their separate ways despite Chateau’s hesitance and still clear feelings for her. She doesn’t protest, however, and goes back to work at the casino until Elsewhere comes to get her and tell her about the case he’s going to then at Vale. Xo joins them, and they head to Vale where they meet Panacea, Sedona, and Deadrose hanging out there. Chateau is surprised since it had only been a month and a half, but they both agree to stay separated for now as she goes into the school with Elsewhere and Xo. They explain their case, which the head of the school calls in their father and gets the case explained, successfully firing him. The father is furious, but Chateau and Elsewhere both verbally lash out at him in front of students and send him running, the case successful without needing to actually go into court. Her and Deadrose hang out for a little bit afterwards, but they acknowledge that they still aren't ready to really be together yet, so Chateau goes back to Lakeview with a heavy but hopeful heart. She spends her time just managing her business, almost debating relocating to Sandy Hollow as her casinos grow there. Mulholland comes to celebrate with her at the end of the year, and they become friends again as they celebrate in Lakeview.

LONELY/EGG/MARKET: As the new year swings around, however, Chateau starts to get very lonely. She misses Deadrose greatly and misses Mulholland a lot, sitting with her guilt and shame with everything that's happened. She starts to drink a bit more due to her casino, spending a lot of lonely nights by herself. She does spend some nights with strangers, resulting in a stray egg that she doesn't take great care of but keeps around anyways due to thinking about Duvidha; she doesn't know who the father is. She eventually gets herself associated with the black market again, training and now assassinating dragons to let out some of her energy and to earn some extra money. She's still very depressed and lonely a lot of the time.

NOVOCAINE: She has the unfortunate encounter with Novocaine again, him running into her and now asking her for a bounty. He tells her to find Saturn, giving a description of him and bringing him to Novocaine alive, killing others if she needs to along the way. She's a bit confused, but she gets threatened and almost killed by him again and finally agrees to go with it. He lets her go, giving her information about Crane since she knows where they are, and she heads out. She actually ends up meeting up with Novocaine, as well as Hymn, again in Northcape as she snatches Crane when she's distracted and knocks her out. Novocaine invites her along, and she begrudgingly agrees despite Hymn's mild disgruntlement at seeing her. She now joins them with an unconscious Crane. Hymn tries to talk to her and find out what's been going on, but she snaps and tells him off, keeping guarded and not wanting to be his friend still. She does get the idea, however, with Crane and the egg she had a few months ago since she knows for sure she doesn't want it, but saves it for a later time. She remains a puppet as they get to Vale, helping Novocaine as they set out for Elsewhere even though she's a bit hesitant. She manages to lure Elsewhere in, but unfortunately gets Panacea too since they spend all of their time together. Novocaine gets Elsewhere knocked out, but Chateau is locked and hesitant when it comes to Panacea, eventually getting beat out by Hymn who tackles and knocks her out. Hymn expresses joining them no matter what, Chateau noticing the change as Novocaine is pleased and sends them all out to Stone's Nest now to change their location. Chateau watches Novocaine interrogate Panacea and Elsewhere, feeling sickly and gross about it all at the idea of her half brother and her friend getting tormented. She sees Panacea constantly looking her way as well, almost sick with the guilt. She remains focused, however, begrudgingly agreeing to go look for Panacea's potential partner and friends when admitting to knowing that about her. She heads back to Vale, lingering around a few days until she spots the familiar markings of Sedona. Sedona asks her if she's seen Panacea and Elsewhere, Chateau convincing her enough to bring her out to a secluded location. Sedona catches on quickly, however, threatening her, but they both get into a long fight that almost goes either way until Chateau finally overpowers Sedona and knocks her out. She's covered in blood and lots of scratches, but she's hissing and furious with everything going on as she sets out towards Dusken where they discussed heading. 

CONFRONT: Chateau is assigned to keep an eye on the other three while Novocaine and Hymn hustle off, saying that other dragons were coming for them. Chateau feels guilty looking down at Sedona and Panacea, going through their stuff and surprised at finding the ring in Sedona's bag. She leaves it in there but takes everything else, the messages and the weapons, before Novocaine and Hymn return with more dragons and saying they're switching some out. Chateau obeys quietly, taking her new victims and leaving behind Panacea and Sedona as they head off to Dusken. Once there, she recognizes Lakeview and Coventry and remains mostly quiet while Novocaine and Hymn confront the two. She watches Novocaine tease Lakeview and watches Hymn and Coventry yell at each other, going to Lakeview when Novocaine tells her to get information from him before heading after Hymn. She goes to Lakeview, trying to interrogate him and getting information from him accidentally. She's intrigued, about to set out when he mentions Deadrose and how she feels still about Chateau. She freezes, telling him to be quiet, but he continues on by saying she still cares for her and that Chateau has a chance to change still and save everyone while getting Deadrose back. Chateau ends up choking him, but is too swayed by it as she leaves a note for Novocaine and heads north.

DEADROSE/JOIN: She goes all the way north to Ridgepool where Lakeview said, catching them in the early morning as the three adults and the two dragonets are there. Deadrose, however, is the first one out as she steps out and slowly asks Chateau to explain herself. Her gentleness and the first time reuniting in months causes Chateau to break down; she explains everything that's happened with her, all the dragons she's messed around with and the sad alcoholism she's used for coping but admitting how much she's missed Deadrose and would do anything to get her back. Deadrose slowly tells her that if she joins them and tells them everything they can to save the others, she might get a chance. Chateau agrees, telling them everything she knows, and Deadrose eventually settles on setting out and getting backup before going to confront him. Crane and Chateau join, Xo staying behind with the dragonets as they fly off. She tries to talk to Deadrose, but she's told to stand down and that they'll talk more after all of it, Chateau shakily agreeing. They go to Lakeview, Glencloud and Splits Gate, stopping to recruit dragons but being forced by Deadrose to explain how she's involved in it, resulting in a bit of mistrust but understanding where they're all coming from as she does her best to follow and stay obedient. 

RESCUE/HEIST: When they all get to Ivywood Break, Chateau is told to stay behind due to the mistrust dragons have for her. Mulholland agrees to stay with her, keeping an eye on his sister as well, and the rest of the dragons set out for Dusken and the small map/location that Chateau gave them. She stays with Panacea and Mulholland, breaking down at one point about everything that she's done. Panacea doesn't forgive her, but she does care for her and doesn't want her to be alone in trying to live anymore, Mulholland agreeing with her. Chateau thanks them shakily, a few hours later getting the rest of the dragons in as they successfully save the others. Deadrose has been knocked unconscious during it, Chateau staying in her room until she wakes. 

LOVE/RETURN: When she does wake up, Chateau does try to apologize and explain how sorry she is for absolutely everything, but Deadrose cuts her off and says that even though she is upset, she can't help but still love her and want to do things together now, saying that they can be messes together as they try to recover from everything. Chateau is in a lot of disbelief, but agrees as she remains by her side as she recovers. They remain in Ivywood Break as Deadrose recovers, much quicker than the others since she only got tranquilized. They spend time with Lakeview and Xo, as well as their dragonets, when Deadrose is recovered and let go. Chateau apologizes to the whole family but to Lakeview especially for everything she's done, Lakeview appreciating it but still not entirely forgiving her. Chateau is worried and anxious, scared they won't ever forgive her, but Deadrose promises that as long as she works on herself and shows change that things will be okay. Deadrose eventually says she's ready to go home and wants to go back to Chateau's casino and place, Chateau surprised but agreeing as they both head home together towards Lakeview.

LAKEVIEW/TOGETHER?: Chateau and Deadrose start off slow for both of their sake, Deadrose sleeping in Chateau's living room on a spare mattress. Chateau shows her back to the casino, watching her have fun and even start working again as a bartender and greeter. Chateau admittedly remembers why she truly fell in love with her, relieved and grateful that she's here as they spend more time together. However, Chateau starts to feel off one day as she realizes what's occurring- the motherly feeling had returned to let her know of her egg hatching, admitting it to Deadrose when she notices. Deadrose comforts her as Chateau has a bit of an emotional evening, but is able to get through due to Deadrose being right by her side.

TRUTH: Her and Deadrose are still hanging out and figuring things out slowly when Lakeview and Xo, along with their dragonets and Sedona joining along, come to visit with some news. Xo tells Chateau and elaborates on her history, saying he found forged records and connected some dots with Saturn, his son, as he realized that Chateau isn't actually related to Elsewhere or Novocaine. Chateau isn't too surprised, thanking him for telling her, and she suggests telling Elsewhere but getting Hau as support in Glencloud. They all head out to tell Hau, along with Zucker and Fumes there, as they explain what's going on. Chateau, however, does not go inside the house as she realizes Duvidha has hatched and wants to stay away. Deadrose keeps her company, both of them having a bit of a brief heart-to-heart before the others join and she explains what's happening with Elsewhere. Hau is worried, agreeing to join as they head out to Solane. They find Elsewhere and Panacea, telling Elsewhere about the news and not surprising him at all but worrying him about his father who might be innocent but in trouble with Novocaine. They eventually form a plan, Chateau upset but understanding when Deadrose says she's joining no matter what. Deadrose is the one to devise the plan, getting Novocaine to come by a few days later at a party in Chateau's casino and getting her and Elsewhere separated for a bit as he threatens them. Chateau explains how they both already know about the genetics, the others coming out and threatening Novocaine. Novocaine, however, is unphased as he expresses himself holding a deadly toxin that could kill the whole casino, and he takes Elsewhere and Hau with him as he puts in a regular smoke bomb that knocks everyone out but doesn't kill anyone. Chateau wakes up later, Elsewhere and Hau gone with Novocaine, and she's frustrated but still relieved that they're all alive. When they've recovered, Chateau heads to Silverkeep with Deadrose and Sedona to help them, eventually finding them in the caves and helping save them. She heads back with Deadrose to save Crane and Elsewhere's father, everyone heading home and Deadrose and Chateau heading back to Lakeview, exhausted but relieved now that everyone's okay.

OFFICIAL/WEDDINGS: Her and Deadrose spend a lot of time together as Deadrose starts to work at the casino again, crashing on Chateau's couch or in her bed most nights. Chateau is overwhelmingly still in love with her, flirting with her easily and treating her as well as she can in hopes it makes up for all of the things she's done. Eventually, after weeks of finally recouping and spending time together again, her and Deadrose have a heart-to-heart and finally admit that they feel ready to start a relationship once more. Chateau asks Deadrose officially to be her girlfriend, and Deadrose accepts in a swooning kiss that makes Chateau overjoyed. They both attend Panacea/Sedona and Xo/Lakeview weddings, nervous but relieved to be mostly forgiven by those after everything has occurred. Chateau is overwhelmed with relieved emotion, enjoying the weddings with Deadrose by her side even with the awkwardness of Mulholland and everything that's happened between all of them. 

MOVING: Chateau and Deadrose live happily together in Lakeview for a bit, still succeeding with the casino, but Chateau admits to Deadrose one night that she wishes they could move to a more cheerful location that may help their business a little more, noticing how it seems to be fumbling. Deadrose does seem to hesitate for a moment, but eventually agrees. They host a few more parties at the casino, inviting their friends while they figure out where to move. They settle on Sandy Hollow, where the other business she had opened up is flourishing but could definitely use her assistance. With one last party with their friends and saying their goodbyes, Chateau sells her place with a sad and nostalgic heart before her and Deadrose head off to Sandy Hollow, excited to take on this new adventure together.
