Keyon

A yokai who tries his best to be an evil oni, but fails miserably because he tends to do nice things for people without realizing it.

His desire to be villainous comes from his family of oni who associate malice with strength/power, as they have done for generations upon generations. As first-born, it is Keyon's duty to take over the household one day, but his inclination for helping others makes him a very unsatisfactory sucessor.

His younger sisters have much more potential, but anybody other than the first-born being the head of the family is unheard of. This has caused the second-born to harbor quite a bit of ill-will towards her brother, as she believes she is much more suited for the job than he is. The youngest, however, could care less, though her relationship with Keyon isn't very ideal either.

The only one who seems to be on his side is a human girl called Shizuko, who unintentionally summoned him in attempts to rid herself of the malicious yokai that plagued her. While he intended on fullfilling his duty as an evil oni by making her suffer terribly, his desire to protect her grew, as well as his feelings towards her, making him forfeit his original plans. While he is unsure of many things in his life, one thing that remains clear is his deep affection for Shizuko, and his wish to keep her safe always.
