Teddy Carter

Teddy Carter is an American highschool senior and captain of Oceanside’s football team, Oceanside Sharks. A beloved and well-known figure as Oceanside’s successfull football captain, Teddy has his heart set out for a previously low-profile classmate, Tony Blanco, after a series of incidents led to their acquaintance. While his looks and atheleticism certainly played part to his fame, Teddy is generally known for his enthusiastic and upbeat nature, having represented his school countless times as an ambassador of sorts.

About

Teddy Carter, the school's famed and beloved football captain, is the boy-next-door, certifiably and undeniably popular for his looks an athletic excellence. His laid-back and charitable demeanor earned him his vogue, well-known around school and in the beach town in general. Teddy likes to enjoy life as-is, and his easygoing attitude earns him little to no enemies. It's no surprise that Mr. Carter has quite the reputation in school; it's hard to hate him—and vice versa, it's quite hard for him to hate others. Safe to say, Teddy has rightfully earned his title.

Alone with Tony, he eases away from straight acting. He's particularly tender with the other, and though Tony often walled up due to his solitary nature, Teddy remains patient with him. Teddy's the bubblier out of the two, and loves to dish out a tease or two on how Tony often shies away due to not being used to affection.

Aside, Teddy's a critical patriot, and carries with him a sense of pride. He's quite a vintage American and, besides keeping up with what his friends tell him, he doesn't really know much about what's trending. He loves his mom dearly, and has a soft spot for mothers in general.

Personality

He’s quite upbeat and optimistic, and certainly carries himself with confidence that seems to light up the room. Teddy accompanies his articulation with animated gestures; it’s hard to keep a frown when Teddy’s nearby. Tony would often describe him as some sort of blueprint for how a person should act—and frankly, Tony’s not too far off. Teddy hasn’t used brute force in his life, was helpful without a request, and—well, put it this way: Teddy’s quite hard to hate. Teddy has genuine emotional intelligence, though he humbly passes it off as being a good listener.

His imperfections come in form of being too harsh with his own performance; the passion for things he loves doing comes at a price of wanting to be flawless at it, often beating himself up for the simplest mistakes despite pardoning others when they’d do the same thing. At the same time, Teddy’s wholeheartedly open to his feelings, letting himself be vulnerable to it. As a result, he’s not stressed too often, as he carries himself a sense of optimism after he accepts his own defeat—that’s not to say Teddy’s immune to deep wounds; he’s simply more inclined to embrace it than wall it up at the back of his brain.

Appearance

Teddy, if not a little intimidating by shoulder length, is as kind as he looks; a ray of sunshine to many people. He's olive-skinned/tan, with very dirty blonde hair and blue eyes that contrast his skin. He’s more or less the textbook jock. He’s broad-shouldered and very generously defined with muscles; you could immediately tell he belongs to some athletic club, somewhere; he works out six times a week. Teddy has a thick/dense nose (not large) and a stretched mouth, with full lips. His ears are large and doesn't sit flat against his scalp, and he has a deep inset between his nose and eyelids, as well as deep dimples. Teddy easily swallows up the average man by size and strength, but another glance would tell that he wouldn't hurt a fly with a gunshot to his face. You can tell that he has a rather friendly air about him, and he appears easily approachable. His torso is almost twice the width of Tony's.

Relationships

Tony Blanco
Teddy's first boyfriend, whom he'd experimented with frequently during the beginning of their relationship. Though Teddy initially thought of Tony as some sort of class slump, Teddy eventually falls in love with him hard. Teddy is exceedingly tender with Tony, often holding him as if Tony is fragile. Teddy invites Tony a lot to his house—first out of pity, then simply due to the fact that they're, well, dating.

Felicia Carter
Teddy's kindly mother, who dotes on her son a lot more than Teddy needs it. Teddy loves his mother and respects her a great deal; he doesn’t seem to have a phase where he didn’t realise her love for him. The two has an exceedingly swimming relationship; so much so that Teddy often talks to her like a friend would.

Freddy Bates
Teddy's childhood friend, virtually since conception. They’ve maintained being best friends since high school, though drifted apart in their sophomore year as Teddy got closer to his football team. Teddy’s feelings towards Freddy is a complicated one after the blackmail incident; despite knowing Freddy hated his identity as a human being, Teddy was too whole-hearted to accept that Freddy was a vile creature.

Trivia

  • Teddy is adopted. His adoptive father died while he was relatively young, and hence Teddy doesn't remember him much, except for the fact that he'd left enough for the family of two to sustain themselves for years to come. He’s known this fact since he’s young.
  • His actual name is Teddy, but Tony nicknames him "Ted", not believing that Teddy wasn't just an affectionate/mutual nickname that others used for him. "Ted" in fact becomes an affectionate nickname for Teddy.
  • He would occasionally smoke when stressed, ironically before something like a big game or a final match. It’s something his mother scolds him for very often.
  • Teddy often goes topless around the house, as it gets extremely hot in the afternoon. Something his mother also scolds him for very often.
Meta/Design

  • Teddy often wears jerseys or muscle-fit short sleeved shirts, accompanied with relaxed-fit jeans. He doesn’t dress formal too often.
