Arthur (also called Art) is an experienced dragonrogue who was left with a phobia of ice after being frozen for 7 years in a self-regenerating ice crystal. When he finally thawed from the ice he awoke to a world where an organisation calling itself "The Rose", led by the woman who froze him, was attempting to eradicate all magic from the world. He and his young dragon Syrus have been fighting againt them since.

Art is usually very empathetic and protective of those he loves, and while he's generally very amicable, this desire to protect people can also make him a terrifying opponent to anyone who picks a fight with him. Although he does his best to rein it in, he's pretty hot-blooded, and relishes any opportunity for a good fight. He tends to get antsy and depressed when he's cooped up too long with nothing to do, which can make relaxing difficult. Following the death of his best friend Tomix, these traits were massively amplified, making him frustrated and cynical with the world and people around him. Recovery took a very long time, but he did eventually start to feel like himself again, especially after the events of the Adventurefriends quest. Despite the contents of the magic-induced dream being a nightmare for the most part, the dream actually gave him a huge sense of much-needed closure. It felt like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders, and he actually refurbished his armour and changed his weapons not long afterwards. He probably didn't realise it was connected to him finally processing what had happened and moving on.

There is very little known about his past before he became an adventurer, let alone his large family which he never talks about. The only thing he's ever brought up about his past is that he had a distant uncle who lived (and died) in Amityvale. On the occasion that people ask him about his family he'll usually deflect by saying Syrus is his family. Early in his adventuring career he spent a lot of time at Dr. Voltabolt's workshop beating up whatever creations Voltabolt felt like throwing at him, but has long since kicked the habit as he has much bigger things to deal with these days. However the time he spent there did spark an interest in energy weapons & magic which has only grown over time.

Recently he's been developing noticable electric blue rings around the pupils of his eyes. He first noticed them just before the beginning of the Maleorous Saga and Belle commented on them not long afterwards. They've only been getting brighter over time- probably a  sign of his growing power and affinity for the energy element. Just  don't high-five him he'll probably give you a static shock.

He sided with Notha in the Maleurous Finale and the Vind in the Proclamation Wars.

I ship him with Tomix (as QPRs), Konnan (extremely briefly and as ♠️), and Remthalas (as ♠️). I don't think any of them are "canon" (although if Tomix had lived longer I think it could've been), I just like to play with ideas. He began out identifying as bisexual but it began to slowly dawn on him that he really only ever seemed to be interested in men so he's probably gay now? I still like the idea of him having a little crush on Serenity back in book 1 but it definitely wasn't serious.

Art is called Art because he was just a self insert for me to play Dragonfable as & then he went and turned into his own entire character and now I can't bring myself to change his name oops ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
