Painful's cunning and clever, and prefers using his wits rather than brute strength. If he fights, he usually tries tiring the opponent before finishing them off. He's very sadistic, and if he's in a bad mood someone suffering is the perfect thing to fix his mood. He's hedonistic, and doesn't care for morals. As long as it's fun, he'll do it. He's also a little sexist. He calls everyone brother if they're a male, if they're female he calls them a different nickname based one what pokemon they are. He likes having others do his work, amused if they're struggling with it. If he wants someone to do something for him, he speaks all friendly-like, calling them friends and doing his best to convince them.

Bloodmane (Zoroark)

Painful was born in a human's house, his mother was a trainer's pokemon. Painful never liked living with humans though, it was too boring, so he decided to leave. He got lost in the forest, but a Zoroark found him and took him in with her own kits. One of these kits, Darkie, was furious that she kept giving him so much attention. When Painful was alone, Darkie tried to kill him. Painful escaped, however, and found Sly and Scheme. He lived with them, stealing food away from Pokemon to survive. He always wished they could do more than just steal, and kept making 'jokes' about how if he were the leader it would be different. He never acted upon these jokes, instead just enjoying how much it put Sly on edge. Eventually, they found Scheme's old pack. Painful didn't want him to leave, so in desperation, he attacked him. Sly drove Painful away, so Painful was now alone. He didn't like being alone, so he summoned a dealmaker spirit. He wanted to be like her, and surprisingly, she decided to teach him! He stayed with them, learning from them. His first victim was Sly, who had been caught in a snare trap. He tricked Sly into selling him his soul, by disguising himself as his mother. Sly had to stay with him for his entire afterlife, but that was cut short when it turned out Sly was acting as a double agent against him. Painful eviscerated Sly and continued to fight. He didn't care that he killed his 'friend', he could always replace him.
