Summary:

Shiro is a young Pokémon trainer from the city of TOWN, leading the Fire-type gym. He is a strong-minded, calm and mature boy, however acting cold and distant, making him look contemptuous. He is devoted to his beloved city and to his main three Pokémons. He is doing his best to be a respectable gym leader, for his town's fame.

Appearance

Shiro is like a porcelain doll. His face is the one of someone who just entered adulthood without having left their childhood yet, bypassing the teenage years: his skin is soft and hair-free, of a pale colour, with just as pale lips, his features are thin and smooth, and his green, large eyes are still full of this curiosity of everything proper to young kids. Said eyes are framed by long and deep black lashes, nicely decorating their almond shape, making them look like girl eyes stapled onto a boy face. This pretty face is topped by a bunch of crow-black hairs, coming down the neck, covering his brow. Damaged by the peninsula’s dry and hot weather, his hairs may appear to be a bit rough, making girls claim “you need a capillary treatments!” at their sight, but Shiro sure does not care. He is of a relatively small size (166cm tall) and has a thin and dry body. His body is fat-less, as he exercises more than he eats. He is not much muscled neither, as his exercises only consist of walking, running and climbing in the wild, leading to a resistant and enduring body, but not to physical strength. He can walk for days without getting tired, but he cannot lift heavy things.

Personality

Shiro is a dreamer. He is often seen to be lost in thoughts, his mind being miles away from his body. He seems distracted and inattentive, but he actually is really conscious of what is happening around him. He is analytical, observant, constantly analysing his surroundings, noticing small details. He is more of an observing and thinking person than an acting one. Of an introvert nature, he does not act nor talk much, usually acting peaceful, quiet, calm, discreet and reserved

Shiro is both intuitive and logical, basing his judgments on both reasoning and intuition. He think a good balance between them is the best way to comprehend the world. Analytical, he analyses every situation, foreseeing every possibility and their consequences between taking any decision. However, instincts and intuition sometimes take over, and he may just follow his heart, as long as his brain’s logic somewhat agree with the chosen path. He remains a rational, logical and thoughtful man.

He does not like overreactions and tends to stay away from conflicts or to appease them, trying to find a middle ground to please and calm everyone down. This, unlike the conflict is about some cause that is close to his heart; he would then stand his ground and would accept no compromise. He can act inflexible on some topics, mostly when it is about his town or his gym. However, even within a disagreement, he always stays calm and never shows angriness. Of an ever equal mood, he remains thoughtful and peaceful, never rushing nor in a hurry. He seems not to know stress.

He is satisfied of his current life and status, and seems not to worry about anything. He is proud of who he is, being aware of his strength and reputation. Being young yet powerful, he is seen as a new talent, promised to a great future. He would still not rest on his laurels, and keep training hard. He is persevering and ambitious; if he wants something, he is assiduous until he reaches his goal. He is quite demanding to himself, and would not accept his own weakness or failure, pushing himself to achieve his goals. He would never give in, no matter the adversity.

He is passionate about fights, and his expressionless face only awakens during good ones, when he had found a valuable opponent. He likes to meet trainers who are able to offer him a good and difficult match. He will give everything during a fight, being so passionate that he sometimes ends up being as exausted as his Pokémons.

His taste for adventure never settled down. He loves to go on a trip with his Pokémons, exploring and discovering new areas. He loves to walk in the wild, out of the path, crossing wild Pokémons’ territories and sometimes discovering some ruin amongst the bushes. He knows the peninsula by Earth, having explored every single hare of it, and is now interested into visiting other lands, to discover new landscapes, new architectures, new ways of living, customs and habits of another region. Of a curious nature, he loves everything about culture and folklore. But more than everything, he loves History, legends and mythologies, especially the old legends of Pyrène, his hometown; he spent countless hours reading about the War of Steam. He often spend his days in libraries, skimming various books and publications, being scientific, sociological or historical. The only kind of books he does not read are pure fictions, as he only has interest for reality, or reality-based myths. Beside his love for History books, he also loves to learn directly from people, going to meet elderlies for them to share their knowledge and wisdom with him.

However, being of a cold and distant nature, he would still most likely stay away from people and conversations if the topic is not interesting enough to him. He hates small talks, and would never talk just for the sake of socializing. Discussions need to have an informative aim for him to take interest in them. He does not enjoy sharing personal experiences with others, and no more does he like crowded places, feeling uncomfortable when there are more than three persons around. He would rather enjoy some time alone, or settle for his quadruped friends. While he loves to discuss about history or other sorts of knowledge, he hates to talk about himself and would never share his feelings nor personal thoughts. Showing no interest into people’s feelings or their everyday life, he appears scornful and contemptuous. He actually has no interest in people indeed, only having interest in their knowledge or the interesting information and stories they could tell him.

He shows no empathy indeed, and does not care for people’s feelings or needs. He would save an endangered person, but this would only be out of manners, and he would not care to fail to save someone’s life, just like he would not try to comfort someone who would be crying or depressed. He does not help the needy, nor would ask for any help if he was needy himself. He considers that one should not rely on others, and that only a weak, unable and prideless person would want to wait on other people for their own welfare. He thinks one should work on their own well-being, fill their own needs and work on their happiness by themselves. Shiro does not care for other people anyway.

Yet, he does not act rude and remains approachable. If you ask for his help to find your way, he will gladly help. If you start to talk to him about something he has no interest in, and he happens to be in a good mood, he will not rudely reject you, he will just not listen to you without showing his disinterest. He is neither aggressive nor impolite; he may just politely make you understand that he is not interested in your conversation.

Shiro loves his hometown a lot. He has a great respect for lasting things, considering them to be more important than ephemeral ones, including humans. He loves and respects nature, towns, monuments and books, especially around Pyrène. He cherishes and honours his beloved town, from his culture and folklore to his history and legends. He also values wisdom, knowledge and erudition, and shows respect to teachers, professors, erudite and wise elders. The latter maybe being the only kind of persons he actually respects, as he often despises people. He can act a bit presumptuous, as he often consider himself to be better than others, not only because of his status as a renowned gym leader, but also as he is convinced to be more intelligent than the common crowd, despite a few wise and erudite persons that he admires.

He is really protective, not only to his town, but also to his Pokémons. He would fight to the death to protect what he cherishes. At war times, he would be of those trainer warriors, riding his fierce Arcanine to battle, both attired in  a tin armour. He would have loved to live at the times where it was easier to prove your value, where there were still lands to conquer and species to discover. A time where he would have fought to prove the superiority of his town, helping it to shine in every domain, being cultural, scientific, economical or military. He would have loved to take part of the building of Pyrène’s fame and greatness, to take part of creating these legends he loves so much to read about.
Modern times are so boring to him.

His Pokemons

As a gym leader, Shiro has lots of Pokemons : three main companions, following him since his begginings as a trainer, and several fire-type Pokemons that are solely trained for the sake of the gym.

Main Pokémons

icon
Kenshi, Arcanine ♂
lvl 47
 Special Ability :
Intimidate
 Nature : Adamant
Moves :
Personality :
He is the first Pokémon Shiro had received, offered by his father who was hoping the young Growlithe would help his son to socialise and get out of his room. Kenshi is a loyal and faithful companion, full of courage and braveness, and fully devoted to his owner. He would follow him anywhere, everywhere, and would sacrifice himself to protect his dear human. He is a dignified and friendly Pokémon, usually acting calm, quiet, open to others, sociable and in a good mood. However, during a fight, he would give everything, becoming a fierce, passionate and focused fighter.
He is very susceptible to Shin’s charms, but does not much get along with Aiden despite his natural friendliness.

icon
Aiden, Houndoom ♂
lvl 46
 Special Ability :
Magic Bounce
Nature : Sassy
Moves : Psychic / Shadow Ball / Dazzling Gleam / Signal Beam
Personality :
He is the first Pokémon Shiro had caught. The boy had found the young pup while walking around the plains at the North of the city, with young Kenshi, who was still a Growlithe. Pleased by the young Pokemon’s appearance, he sent Kenshi to fight him in order to weaken him and catch him. At the very moment when he was putting his hand at the Pokéball with which he had just caught the wild Hound, two large and impressive Houndooms appeared. The young Houndoor’s parents had returned from their hunt, and they jumped on the young boy, severely biting him, but he would not let the Pokéball go. Luckily, a farmer heard his cries, and went to his rescue, helped by her two well-trained Mightyenas. They managed to defeat the two fire-types.
Shiro spent a few days at the farmer’s home, curing his wounds, and it is only back home at Pyrène that he freed from his Pokéball the young Houndoom that he had just torn away from his family. The young Pokémon required a lot of time to be tamed, but ended up trusting his new trainer. However, he always kept his bad temper and grumpiness. However, he acts faithful and loyal to his pack, even though it is more through principle than true affection. He does not love Shiro, but he is still devoted and obedient to his trainer, as a warrior devoted to his lord. He hates Kenshi and does not bear being close to him, and they often fight with each other, but they still respect each other and would help each other if truly needed.
The only one who managed to reach his heart was Shin.

icon
Shin, Ninetales ♀
lvl 46
 Special Ability :
Flash Fire
Nature : Mild
Moves :
Personality :
While walking around with his two pups, Shiro noticed a couple of Ninetales with their litter of Vulpixes. Shiro never had much interest for Ninetales, finding them to look too weak and feminine, but one of the pups caught his eyes; instead of being ruddy like his siblings, it was of a yellowish colour, bright and shining. Shiro approached it, curious about the unusual Pokémon, without minding much for the parents. The latter quickly gathered their ruddy kids around them, staring unfavourably at Shiro, but did not try to keep him away from the yellow pup. They did not even react when the human picked it up. The trainer understood that this pup was actually a danger to his family, as his bright pelt was too visible for any kind of camouflage, bringing the attention of predators onto them. The young unusual pup was then a treat to its family as a whole, and would most likely not be able to ever become a good hunter. And this is how nature works; unfitting individuals should not be let to reduce the chances of the fitting ones. This is one the two parents did not object when the human moved away with the small Vulpix; it would have not survived long anyway.
The yellow pup was found to be a girl, and was named Shin. At first, she was a boisterous kid, sometimes harsh while playing, and somewhat capricious. However, as she was growing up, she became a graceful white Ninetales, elegant and refined. Conscious of her charms, especially with Aiden and Kenshi who both have a crush on her; she plays with her femininity, acting like a princess, a seducer. She had gained a strong self-confidence, which somewhat looks like narcissism, and likes to play with the boys.
