Zephaniah

Zephaniah is a scruffy lampago with fur covering his arms, waist, and legs. He has large paws and digitigrade feet.

He was born in the slums and grew up very poor. After many hardships and misfortunes that came with fighting just to eat, he developed a deep resentment towards authority and the status quo. His rebellious nature tends to get him into trouble, but he's convinced that his lowly place in the social hierarchy means that people will never grow to accept him anyway. He joins the thieves guild with the intent of 1) stealing from the rich to give to the poor, and 2) upsetting those who are in positions of power.

Both of his parents died when he was still a child, and Zephaniah doesn't remember much of his childhood before his parents passed away. He retains one prominent memory of his late father from when he was a very young boy: because the family had always struggled, Zephaniah's old man took him to a festival to help pickpocket the attendees. After an evening of stealing coin and food, Zephaniah recalls his teary-eyed father pulling him aside to tell him something important. However, Zephaniah only remembers the sound of the marching band drowning out his father's words.
