Nixus Svartisen

The Domes, a barrier of ice created by the very first ice dragon to exist. The very thing keeping humanity from eternal flames. No one knows how it started or what lead to the building of The Domes. All that was known is the burning world that lurks hauntingly outside of their protective icy barrier. For millennia, it was maintained by the ice dragons in exchange for offerings from the humans. Thicken during autumn and winter, let the ice melt into rain during spring and summer. That was the cycle all ice dragons followed for generations upon generations.

Naturally, that duty fell upon Glacialis as well. Although it was troublesome, Glacialis couldn't say he hated his job as a guardian. Those days were peaceful... His children would, on occasion, sneak into nearby villages to play with the village children. The humans would bring him offerings and, in exchange, he would maintain their home. There were occasions where a fire dragon would try to break through their barrier, but they were no match for him and his kind. Back then, Glacialis imagined the rest of his life would be spent like this.

But he was far too naive...

Betrayed, Glacialis left the humans to their own fate and swore never to return.

The world outside was a barren place. No trees, no grass, just dust and mountains for as far as the eye can see. Curiously, amongst the dust and debris, there were tent-like structures decorated with lights he had never seen before. Intrigued by the odd sight and with no where else to go, Glacialis decided he would stay.

"What is your name sir?" One of the odd looking humans had asked.

"Nixus..." He replied. "I am called Nixus."
