Born far away from earth as we know it in the Horizon Realm of Reteia, Emory was raised without much knowledge of the world outside. His parents raised him for a very specific purpose - to be a true portrayal of what magic without paradox would look like. He was raised sheltered and away from the rest of the world, quite literally, as the only people he met outside of his family was the ever cycling amount of classmates he met while in the boarding school Reteia was made for. One of these classmates was one Blaine Seong, who he grew especially close too, but even he had to leave to finish his Fortunae training.
Raised in a very traditional enviorment, Emory forced himself to be extremely academic-minded, often swallowing his own feelings and emotions for the sake of keeping up with his magic. Because of this, many believe that he's merely a quiet, diligent student, but in reality it's years of repression beginning to take its toll. He'd never admit it, though, trying to remain chipper and upbeat around others.
As of his Initiate graduation, he's been dragged off of Reteia by his cousin to learn about the 'real' world on the Gauntlet. He's not the happiest about this, confused and scared of most modern technology. He's been made to tag along with a fair few new mages as well, which is both a blessing and a curse.
"An amazing regent, but I question their methodology!!"
He really doesn't know what to feel about them. She says a lot about taking care of him for 'his own good', but so far has done nothing but cause him significant emotional distress. He admires his skill as a Hermetic, but is otherwise quite confused and intimidated.
"My everything!! He's my most beloved."
A sight for sore eyes. After being seperated for 5 years, being forced to share a living arrangement with him is actually the best thing about being in the gauntlet. He's a person that fully, entirely understands him, even when its silly faerie stuff or the cabal nonsense of the day. He feels like home. He is home.
"My best partner in crime!!"
Quickly became one of his best friends in the world. He very much values their opinion, and wants them to see success and happiness. Also Happy Daireann Circle.
"WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS!!"
One of Emory's best friends , who he feels that he doesn't give himself enough credit. That said. He certainly says things. And does other things. Whether or not he wants to sing Apollo's praises or hit him with his wand varies on the day.
"Please take a nap..."
Another one of his friends, they always make Emory think and laugh and really explore new horizons. They're like the older sibling they've never had, and often worries about their wellbeing.
"He's my father!! I look up to him a lot."
That's his father!! He looks up to him a lot!! He's grown closer with him over time, and there's a lot he wants to catch up with and grow to make him proud.
"I really don't understand how he was ever a technocrat!"
A recent recruit to the small mage family he's built, he's happy to see that he's getting better among the Disparate Alliance but wishes he'd be less of a grump. He is fun to mess with though!
"Why are you like this..."
A friend from back in his days on Reteia, he's a sight for sore eyes and a swift kick in the nostalgic gut. He gets along with Apollo extremely well and that worries him deeply.
"You need a hug...!"
Second of the Technocratic Converts, Emory's relationship with Phoenix is made interesting in the fact that they were the closest thing two men could be to being married in medieval times in a past life, Phoenix accidentally got Emory addicted to vampire blood, and they both have to live with the consequences. That said, Emory cares about Phoenix deeply and wants him to just be ok.
