Salem

Salem is a human necromancer working under Hex. They create soul contracts with spirits (turning them into a butterfly/moth shape to help conserve mana). With these contracts, they will perform various acts to help the souls move on to the afterlife peacefully without regrets. Being raised by the kind demon, Briar, Salem was taught to treat souls with respect and care.

They live underground in Hex’s hidden subway station where demons and necromancers reside. With harboring demons and necromancers being illegal and hunted, Hex’s members dwindle as time passes. In addition, Salem is slowly losing mana every day due to resurrecting Thyme. Eventually they’ll no longer be able to perform any mana, causing a desperation for power.

Their white eye allows them to see souls but needs to be covered with shade for them to see properly. They always wear a demon headband with a gray veil in their necromancer appearance, while wearing sunglasses in their incognito outfit. As they lose mana in later arcs, they’re no longer able to see out of the eye. Their veil possibly lifted behind face in later arcs.

They love reading, acting, and gossip. They are associated with the High Priestess arcana and moths.
