Profile

Theraeawyn in her native tongue, translates to Skysong, Raptoran bard, skilled in singing and wind instruments, uses a rapier and her foot bow (cauz bird feet) has feathers instead of hair

The soft birdsong grew louder as it moved through the forest. When you happen upon it's source, you notice it comes from a many variety of birds as they flew around a winged soul. She played a flute that also created the bird song you hear, and when it came away from her lips, her voice sung in the clearest Tuilvianuue, the language of Raptorans. Should you know the language, it would sound like this:

Above the blooming trees
Up high in the bight blue sky
I spread my wings and fly away
Fly away to the unknown

I gained my flight
I learned my skills
I made winged friends
All in the song of the winds

My heart soars in the sky
Lives in the song
Flows through swords
And lives upon my wings

So fly away, fly away
Glide to your home
Tell the tale of me
The wanderer of song

Bright white feathered wings adorn this raptoran's back. Their color never seems to be stained by dirt or dust. At times, she dyes the feathers to create colorful displays for shows.

When she's not traveling, her outfit is usually a simple, but appealing to look at, low cut and attractive dress. Her most worn one is the deep red, and she finds that most people give extra tips when they see her in it. If she incorporates flying into her act, then she is in brightly colored breeches and a tunic.

Her eyes are a bright gold with almost unnoticeable flecks of deep blue in them.

Her hair isn't really hair at all when viewed up close, but actually long, soft, thin feathers. These too are naturally white, but she dyes them with brown or black or red to seem more normal. She doesn't like people assuming that she since she has white hair that she is old.

Long talons are at the end of each finger and her feet are more bird-like than humanoid.

Soft ruby-red lips are a stark contrast to her pale skin and wings.

Tattoos that have meaning to her flock adorn her arms and legs. Each line means something different, whether it be a different family member, or a different role played in the flock. Smaller designs are within the larger, making them seem to swirl and hypnotize should one stare too long.

One other tattoo is under her left eye. It was the sign of slavery, and then it was altered to become the sign of her master.

She stands at 6 foot, 7 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds. She stands out well in a crowd.

As soon as she hatched, she had felt the pull of the sky more keenly than any other raptoran she knew. She trained hard to be chosen to go on her Walk of Four Winds, and she was not disappointed, being chosen to go a few years before her age-mates.

She didn't know what she wanted to do in life,  but she knew in the few weeks it took her to learn how to fly that she didn't want to go back home. There was so much more to this world.  She wanted to go out and explore it.

But she wasn't prepared for the danger. She was captured by a band of goblins. They thought she was one of the winged elves they had be hired to sell on the slave market.

While she was captive, she was treated well,  and it took a few years for the goblins to get back to their meeting place with they benefactor halfway across the world.  While in their care, she met many elves, orcs and of course goblins, which led to much her knowledge of their languages.

And so she was sold into slavery at the age of 14. and that moment changed her life. Her master was of the bardic sort, and he saw much potential in her. He began training her in the more secretive ways of the bards, along with how to use woodwinds and how to sing properly, and she picked up the skills quite well in the few years she was with him. With all the coin she brought in, he didn't want to lose her, but he realized that she was like the birds, they didn't like to be caged, and sang the best when they were free.

She knew she wasn't a bird, but she appreciated the thought, and promised to visit him again someday. She didn't know where to go, or even where she was at, so she wandered. She played wonderful songs and they attracted birds. Her family had also had a hobby for collecting them, so she made it her quest to find rare birds across the realms.

Eventually, she came upon a traveling band of minstrels, who loved her music and offered her a place in the band. As she had no where else to go, she happily joined, playing music where ever they went, using her flying ability to attract the crowds, and her argumentative personality and diplomacy to get a cheaper deal on rooms.

At the moment, she is happy with the way her life is going, but she feels as if there is something missing. Perhaps her bardic skills could be put to better use.

The bards she was traveling with kind of deserted her when she started to help a wild elf by the name of Caellas. After being around him for long enough, she started to develop some feelings, but she holds them closely, not knowing what is wrong or right to do in this situation.

She has an insatiable want to collect birds which she sings and flies with. She whistles tunes or plays them on her flute copying the songs they produce. She knows just how to 'speak' to them so they wish to stay with her. The birdseed she keeps on her probably helps as well.

She is proficient in using her footbow made of darkwood, and never goes anywhere without it. She also used a rapier and a dagger, along with her bardic spells and songs in combat.

She worships the raptoran god Nilthina for he presides over lore and she is fascinated by stories and songs.

The name that she picked for herself, Theraeawyn (Thay-ah-win), means skysong musician. Her flock name is Kethwynonna (Keth-win-ona), which means windmusic keeper.

Her personality is similar to that of her race. She likes to argue for the sake of arguing, finding it fun and even supporting the side which she doesn't believe in.

Her capture has done nothing to her mindset, she doesn't hold any grudges, she doesn't hold any fear. It lead to her becoming a bard, and she felt that was her destiny.

Her capture did leave her without anyone to properly debate and argue with. She may seem crazy at times when she has fully blown arguments with herself. If anyone knows better, it's like she has a split personality. One taking the side of Kethwynonna and the other of Theraeawyn.

She is a bit wary of strangers, and keeps her distance until she gets to know them better. In a conversation, she usually stays silent until she can tell more about a person or unless it is necessary. Because of this, she sometimes seems rude or short.
