About...
The longstanding ruler of the Mirii Inlet - and the person who established it as Chellabra's primary water source. Once upon a time, he had dreams of becoming the continent's trading capital - perhaps building a fleet of ships under his command, maybe nudging the church into loosening the restrictions on the gemstone trade.
Alas, reality knocked. Mewt Mavet, dual-Dominion Flame, conquistador, unhinged, gave Bastet a simple choice: surrender, or die. Having seen the continent's northern nations fall to Mewt's magic, Bastet agreed to the former. Becoming a vassal state of Maweth, Bastet stews bitterly in the loss of his region's independence, agriculture, influence, and autonomy.
If there was ever a chance, he'd snap Mewt's neck in an instant. But realistically, he knows he's trapped.
Personality...
Time has worn at the positivity in his heart, though he doesn't vocalize his cynicism. Expects the worst, prepares for the dreadful. Trying to pull strings all the time, and is incensed when his strings get cut. Keeps calm during conflict, but strongly adheres to 'ounce of prevention' kinds of policies. A good leader, but not very personable or particularly friendly.
Could've become dictator of Chellabra in a different time, if he'd grabbed power sooner. Knows this. Is still trying to be.

Abilities...
Flame: Little-Pawed Salmon Flame, Dominion of the Cat
Bastet's Flame lets him communicate perfectly with all cats, and lets him temporarily control and/or puppet them. Cats are also naturally predisposed to trust him.
Powers...
Always lands on his feet and enjoys knocking things off tables.
