Asiago might not look like a demon, but he is. In fact, he used to be quite a powerful demon. Born in Italy in the 13th century, Asiago was awarded the highest demonic rank - the tri-rubies - and given the job of demonic ambassador because of his silver tongue, a byproduct of his half-Heat elemental status. Asiago was very good at this job... until he was assigned to check on a trouble-making monk in the Holy Roman Empire. One thing led to the other and before he knew it, Asiago had tampered with the War of Reformation and got a serious demotion in power. He did get to keep the tri-rubies, but he was stripped of his earthworking abilities and forced to become a hellmouth. Which he did... until he met a soul unworthy of the weight assigned to him and decided to take him elsewhere.

Asiago is a cunning person with the ability to think quickly and talk his way out of situations. However, he's quite cowardly and gets scared in the face of danger. His smooth talking attitude sometimes falls apart when the situation gets out of his control. However, Asiago is not a liar or a manipulator, just a shrewd negotiator. He relies on Iota for his bravery, something Asiago lacks even in the best of times. Clever and smart, Asiago is the brains of the operation and has gotten both himself and Iota out of tough scrapes many times.

Asiago doesn't have much control at all over his earth powers. He can make holes and tunnels in the ground large enough for himself, but that's about it. He has the ability to shapeshift into a hellmouth and into a snake, but that's about the extent of his once-potent shapeshifting ability. He's much more proficient in his heat powers. He can breathe fire, and he can swim, unlike most demons who can only sink. He doesn't seem to have a weapon. Perhaps he did, but it was taken from him a while ago.

Asiago has one eyebrow that is noticeably thicker than the other. It's an important part of his design.
