After his father and older brother were both killed in a tragic aviation accident a little over a year ago, Reason Stargold inherited the entire Stargolden Industries empire—the most expansive business conglomerate in all of Equinoxx—and boy oh boy does he have big plans! All the pie in the sky ideas of a Silicon Valley techboy meets the poise and jack-of-all-trades mega-celebrity of Howard Hughes, all rolled up and stuffed into one pretentious horse. Operating out of the utopian city his father founded on the ashes of the Unicorn capital, Reese is extremely tight lipped about the projects his company is currently working on, but when approached for comment he always assures it’ll be something game changing!
A flippant playboy fond of the finer things in life and far more charismatic in theory than in actual practice, Reese and his company are a household name far and wide. He has a particular fascination with the medieval aesthetics of “Olden” Equinoxx (see: the aesthetic of an age maybe 70 years ago,) and trots around in full princely regalia more often than not. It makes him feel powerful, and makes all of his associates often cringe in secondhand embarrassment. He’s not what you would call a particularly smart unicorn, but he knows how to play his cards right and push the right people around, and in the business ream that’s all you really need. So he says, anyway.
Very self-conscious about his unimpressive magic. That sounds like a you problem, chief.
RELATIONSHIPS
FRANK AFTER | Second in Command. Thinks he’s a cantankerous old bird, but immeasurably invaluable all the same. They butt heads on almost every decision Reese makes, and it’s starting to drive him nuts. Do remember who your boss is, Mr. After.
VALIANT STARGOLD | Father. He’s struggled to win his dad’s approval since he was a foal. Some of Stargolden’s business associates were expecting Reese to be excited in the wake of what happened to Valiant and Dignity, but he seems more…. Startled than anything. He seems a bit in over his head...
DIGNITY STARGOLD | Older Brother. "Diggs" has always been the, ahem, golden child of the Stargold sons, and to say Reese resents him may be an understatement. He's hard pressed to say anything positive about his brother's memory in the wake of Diggs' aviation accident.
ECHO INKROAR | Personal Assistant. Who? Oh, right! His wonderful secretary, a priceless asset to himself and the Stargolden family! Who else is going to buy his groceries when he's too busy?
