Noche Tenebri is a young-adult Arcinian originally hailing from Titanim, who moved to Daffodil Town during a rough patch in her life and has stayed there since. Noche's lived...an interesting life. Autistic and having chronic anxiety, she can be a bit unpredictable and volatile, but has a good heart and is always there when it counts. Back when she still lived in Titanim, Noche was a sprightly, sassy teenager who spent most of her time cavorting around the Internet looking for friends (and validation). While this did some good things for her, a run-in with the wrong group of people would...change her, for better or for worse.
It took her a long, long time to recover from the trauma that a particularly nasty group of people gave her. Manipulated and, to a degree, bullied into marching in lockstep when she didn't agree with the clique, Noche developed quite a bit of her chronic, severe anxiety from that situation, and- through a bizarre, exceptionally rare and woefully understudied form of Arcanus- the scar of that anxiety and trauma grew and festered until it took on a physical form of its own. Calling herself Venn Toxica, she represented everything that Noche hated about herself (at the time, at least).
Fearing this new manifestation- like she was turning into a monster- Noche shut herself out from other people for a while. This was when she moved to Daffodil Town, desperately wanting to just get away from everyone. It took her quite a long time to slowly, steadily recover, and even now she's still healing, but bits and pieces of the Noche that once was are slowly reassembling themselves- a low-key, introverted artist with an empathetic heart and a love for those close to her (especially her boyfriend, Iyst) stronger than anything else.
Venn still exists, but she's been suppressed over time by both Noche's personal growth and external forces (namely, anxiety meds).
TRIVIA
- I tend to cheat the angle on Noche's sidecut. For proper reference, it's supposed to be on our left/her right side.
- Please do not draw Noche without her mask without my permission! It's there for a very personally important reason and she only takes it off around people she really trusts. She'll usually just pull it down so it's around her neck if she wants to have it off.
- Noche's antennae curl upward when she's using Arcanus. This is normal for Arcinians but is rather more pronounced on Noche's droopy antennae.
- Noche can emote using her mask, but please draw it as it is in my art! The shape of the mouth can change, but nothing else. (I hate that this is the most accurate comparison I have, but think Sans.)
RELATIONSHIPS
Venn Toxica
Back when Noche was still young and the mental wounds from what she'd been through were still fresh, Venn was everything she feared and hated- formed from her hatred and fear, lashing out and hurting everyone around her when she lost control. Nowadays, with Noche having recovered quite a bit, she thinks of Venn less as a horrific bogeyman and more as a minor nuisance.Silvia Luxill
Noche and Silvie were good friends back in high school, but lost contact with one another when Noche moved out of Titanim. They reconnected a few years later when they bumped into each other again on the street. The two share a lot in common; even more so way back when- Noche looks at Silvie and sees a mirror of herself, back before it all went wrong.
