Sylvarina

Sylvan is an Alder who lives with the Millennium Mage/Agnuin as one of his apprentices.

About her:

• Sylvan is the alderian nickname of the name Sylvarina; only her brother refers to her as Syl (Alder names work like Russian names with the given name and a nickname / some Alder nicknames are also used as given names)
• 182cm/5'12"
• is partly immortal along with all the other apprentices of the Millennium Mage (which was a gift by him)
• is very diligent and upright
• can appear aloof and distant to outsiders but is kind and caring towards her brother Vilanis although their relationship is slightly strained (without ill-will but rather fuelled by feelings of guilt and regret)
• would do anything in her power to protect her brother and Agnuin
• speaks all the languages of the world (even those of the vanished races)
• is a very talented mage
• has so called 'water flowing' hair, which is (along 'air flowing' hair, which her brother has) a sought after characteristic in Alder children, since it usually denotes a strong affinity to magic ('water flowing' means that the hair falls heavy and soft, just like water flowing in a river)
• was a child during the fall of the Alder Kingdom
• has lost her left arm in an accident, which caused her relation with her brother to become complicated
• her life was saved by Agnuin, who took her and her brother in afterwards
• she can only wear sleeveless cloths since sleeves intervene with the main use of her Animusorb
• her Animusorb allows her to 'grow' a prosthetic arm, that feels like it's made from a mix of chitin and leather
• she can influence the shape of her prosthetic arm and extent and shorten it at will, it also allows her to grab Shades and other ethereal creatures but it's very extraneous to use this arm therefore she doesn't use it as often despite it's advantages
• her Animusorb is 'forged' which means that the Shade inside of it has been 'tamed' and can be used without running the risk of being taken over by the Shade, this also means that the brooch the Shade's Core (the red-blue Orb) sits on is secreted from the Orb and can change it's shape to fit better to Sylvan's shoulder
• the black bandages are also secreted from the Orb and not only give it a better hold on Sylvan's body but also allows it to feel her muscles move and translate the nerve signals to the prosthetic arm if it is called out
• is demisexual

Relationships:

With Agnuin:

• he saved her life, gave her the Animusorb and taught her how to use it
• he teaches her and her brother Magic as a whole including even knowledge not yet discovered by the rest of the world
• she as an unrequited crush on him

With Vilanis:

• he is her younger brother (about four years, which is a very short time between children for Alder)
• they're close but since the accident, during which Sylvan lost her arm, he feels guilty for having caused it despite her claims that it wasn't his fault

She knows and likes Cerine, although they haven't seen each other in a very long time
