Profile
Elion Grand
The Warrior of White
"We can carry on. For those we have lost. For those can yet save."
A man once believed he joined the adventure too late... yet fortunately came at the right time. He escaped the will of his elders in his tribe to become a veteran hunter until his deathbed, to traverse Eorzea until Hydaelyn's call awakened him. From there he picked up a spear to become a Dragoon that's killed Primals and pronounced him as Eorzea's champion.
Elion is now recognized through the color of his armor; a brilliant pearlescent sheen of white. And since his comeback after his adventure from the First, he stands out even more with the unique color of his pure white horns.
Notes
- Elion's horns are cannonically pure white with black tips after the events of Shadowbringers
- Elion is not his real name, and it was given to him by himself as a different alias. Esen was the name he was born with but doesn't want to tie his identity to the tribes in the Azem Steppe.
- Majority of his armor is dyed pearl white with some black accents. He will wear black in his casual wear.
- Grand is older than most of the adventurers that he's traveled with. Many refer to him as Uncle or Grandpa.

Origin Story
WARNING: Spoilers after ARR will happen so if you haven't finished Endwalker pls don't read the ending djbdkjnd
Esen was born and raised in the Azim Steppe and often jumped between there and a couple of cities in the far East, from a line of well rounded soldiers and talented warriors. Thus it's not a surprise that he, too, was among them. However, there was often a comparison between him and his older sister, Solara but she got the better of him in regards to her outgoing and social person and individuality. Whereas the younger sibling preferred temporary solidarity and away from even those that he acknowledges as friends. He cares little about socializing and more so finds himself prefer to better his fighting prowess just so he can emerge the battle of the Naadam to become khagan himself. Even his own tribe would undergo similar combat to become their tribe's war chief. Esen, of course, could not level with Solara and he often settled with hunting and herding animals instead of undergoing mercenary work to help. He finds himself comfortable between hand-to-hand combat and a bow and quiver due to his work.
However, Esen finds himself rather jealous towards his older sister even though he's rather used to her being in the spotlight. Let alone, they've chosen her as War Chief. But not rather because of her success, but the lifestyle she lived. Most especially her time of traveling outside of the Steppe, where she dragged her chosen other all the way home. And even Esen wasn't confident and believed their relationship didn't last so long as his older sister was rather open towards others... in a rather romantic subject. He felt rather bad for her husband, but even Esen himself ended up starstruck for the foreign Xaela, who often told him stories and the places that were considerably unknown to Esen, who had only lived in the Azim Steppe his whole life. Even bearing a child together, Solara's husband ended up leaving the Steppe with their son.
He didn't think much of it, but ever since his parting, Esen began to miss the stories he'd told during his temporary stay. And the longer he's spent time in his home, the more he realized he wanted to break out and discover something new. Hence, knowing that the tribe would be fine without Esen, he decided it was time to venture into something brand new. And during his dreams, were only filled with a pleasant blinding light. Such dreams only felt like a calling to him.
Thus he decided to start new, under the new name: Elion Grand. He left his old life behind, including the Steppe, his sister, and the tribe.
A Realm Reborn
Shortly after Esen left, he figured he'd stop and convince himself to pick up a new weapon... and a new name. While trying to familiarize himself with the spear, Esen is met with the Scions of the Seventh Dawn soon after he was given a blessing by the Mother Crystal Hydaelyn. When they asked him about his identity, he immediately faked it by using the name of Elion - which is the name that he's now referred to as. Since then Elion and the Scions have been tasked to destroying the Primals that were summoned by the beast tribes living by the three main cities, influenced by the Garlean Empire and the Ascians side by side. After a long hard battle, Grand perseveres and destroys both Lahabrea and the Ultima weapon concocted by Gaius van Baelsar and his troops.
Heavensward
When the crisis was averted post events of Gaius and the Ascian, one of Grand's friends Alphinaud takes this opportunity to create his own Grand Company known as the Crystal Braves. However, the young Elezen's ideas backfired during the events of Thanalan's corruption. When the Sultana of Ul'dah was poisoned, the Scions were accused and were forced to flee the area and was welcomed by a noble family of the House Fortemps.
Putting aside his meeting with his nephew after years since his department from the Steppe, and his constant attempt of courting the patriarch, Edmont de Fortemps... both he, Alphinaud, and Tataru spent too long with the family before they end up getting dragged into the Dragonsong War. When Grand's intent was to protect Ishgard from the diabolic intents of Nidhogg, his mind would eventually change after slowly learning the truth of the past between dragon and man. Regardless of the past, Elion has no choice but to cease Nidhogg's rage, but also destroy Ishgard's Archbishop who have been wandering beneath Elion's nose. Even after the events of wiping the two, he was forced to fight a posessed Estenien, a friend and Dragoon rival who has fought alongside them this whole time.
Stormblood
Thankfully, all is well when everyone discovered that the Sultana was not poisoned. Only put into a longtime slumber concocted by one of the members of the sultanate in Ul'dah. The Warrior of Light partakes in the resistance to reclaim Ala Mhigo from the Garlean forces. However, Grand's efforts were in vain after he, the Champion of Eorzea, was easily beaten by Zenos - the son of the Garlean Emperor.
Despite Elion's failure, they continue the resitance by regrouping in Doma to overthrow the Garlean influence there. And when he last expected it, him and the Scions find themselves in the Azim Steppes. Grand remains totally silent about it, praying that his familial tribe would not be present for when they traverse the plains. Thankfully, Solara and their relatives would be respectfully traversing elsewhere during the period... until it was decided that they would partake in the Nadaam - a battle-like ritual that would claim the throne over the Au Ra tribe. Prior to the events, Solara appears, though not partake in this year Nadaam but as a spectator, she is shocked to see Esen to partake in the ritual despite the past times he would be disinterested in such events. Her apperance surprised many of the Scions around Elion, many of them asking endless questions as to why he'd hide his identity and knowledge of the Azim Steppe. Most of the time Grand ignores most of these berating questions, and even Solara having to be disgusted by the idea of him fighting for another tribe and nor their own. However, Solara appeared too late for Elion to even made any last minute decisions. In the end, Elion and the Scions immediately once the Nadaam and earned the throne of khagan. Most of the success was through the works of Elion's previous experienced of being dragged into the rituals long ago. He recalls small moments fighting against the Oronir and the Dotharls.
With the help of the Steppe warriors to liberate the Garlean Empire in Doman, it inspired many other regions to rise up and fight against the Empire. They were eventually able to liberate Ala Mhigo and bear Zenos, who slits his throat before Elion after he recognizes the Warrior as his 'Friend'.
Shadowbringer
Perhaps the series of long events after successful liberating both Ala Mhigo and Doma gave the Scions a good hit of headaches. However, these headaches were unusual as it's put one of the Scions into a comatose state and no magics or medicine were able to revive any of those that passed out. Even one of Grand's closest friends becomes a victim to these headaches, to whom he comes back in the same state. The young elezen was brought back by none other than the Shadowhunter himself. However, Elion grows immediately threatened by him - recognizing that the Shadowhunter was Gaius van Baelsar. Whether or not it was Gaius's vengeance against the Ascians had inspired (or charmed) Elion to not strike him then and there in the Burn, he spares a fight with him and promises that later they'll talk things over. The biggest problem is that many of the Scions are now in this same coma and Elion has no other choice but to figure it out himself. From there, he's now transferred to another dimension known as the First.
The Crystal Exarch was only meant to summon Elion himself into the first, and coincidentally brought the other Scions to the same dimension. And without being able to transfer themselves back without the help of the Exarch, they have no choice but to help him save their world by being consumed by the overflowing Light around them. If they fail to, the Light will only soon to consume their own universe, thus giving Elion no choice but to take care of it.
During the process him and his party occasionally interact with Emet-Selch, an ascian leader who wishes to bring back their old civilization before the Sundering occured and their world ended in shambles. However, despite learning the histories of the Ascians, Elion is against bringing back a civilization as the cost of everyone else's lives. However by the time he could confront Hades, Elion's body is wracked with pain due to the previous moments of absorbing the light of the Wardens. Before the light would consume him completely, he is saved by Ardbert and his body recovers once more - his horns now glowing in pure white instead of its original light brown color. He, and other heroes from other dimensions destory Emet-Selch. But even if he fades away, Elion promises to tend to his request: to Remember them. And who they once were.
When arriving back to the Source, the Champion has been met by Gaius to relay a message that the Empire is in the works of creating another Ultima weapon and he wishes to stop them from doing it once more. He partakes in trying to stop the Ultima weapons, but only to find out that each of these pilots were connected to Gaius. Seeing Gaius's heart wrecks after hearing his children were dying while operating these weapons, he asks no one else but Elion to help him stop it. And despite all of the Champion's efforts, his youngest daughter would be the one left and left Gaius devestated for a moment. Seeing the broken father had harbored pity over Baelsar by the Champion, doing what he could to comfort the Garlean. He befriends him just before leaving Werlyt, though the Raen has yet to let out his 'true' feelings for him... and perhaps would never unless he has no other choice.
Endwalker
Journeying to Old Sharlyan, they only wish to obtain the support of the Sharlyan city to help prevent the calamity that is conspired to destory the world. However, through the message of Fourchenault, Alphinaud and Alisae's father, they suspiciously declined their intents and left them doing their own thing while the world could be potentially ending. Especially with the rise of the Telephoroi, they become concerned as to what will be happening and how they could stop it without the help of Sharlyan people. Elion was more focused on destorying the towers over dealing with politics, thus he joins with Thancred to aid the Alchemists of Radz-At-Han.
When the invention of the warding scales appeared to worked from being enthralled by whatever is held in the tower, the group would eventually be called by the satrap, the ruler of Radz-At-Han. Upon visiting the city, Elion appeared starstruck with Ahewann, who was even disregarding the fact that he was only a standing figure for the real satrap - Vrtra, one of the great wyrms birthed by Midgardsommr.
[WIP because I'm too upset to finish SINCE AHEWANN IS FUCKING DEAD]
A rather suspicious young Xaela that he's met in the Golden Saucer. Overtime he's grown close to him, if not attached to him. His friends find their relationship questionable, but Elion can't help it. He urges the man to join him on his adventures instead of fooling around in the Golden Saucer. But instead Grand ends up spending majority of their time together in the GS... gambling his money away...
Youthful Aeon Feratu met each other in Limsa Lominsa, where he was a newcomer in the three city-states. At first Elion wanted to introduce him into Eorza but personal business with the Scions had limited him the freedom to help the young man. Now by the time he came back, he discovered Aeon's powerful fighting prowess and even surpassed him at times. Aeon is actually much more excited and interested in the life of battle more than Elion, and Feratu is persistent for the Warrior of Light to come with him in a couple of trips
He hasn't seen Wulf since... he was a little boy! Rather unfortunate that his father separated himself with Solara, but who could blame him? Wulffius is the son of his former tribe's chieftan... making him his nephew. He was surprised to see him in Ishgard as well. When he met Wulf again several years later during his adventures around Eorza... the more time he spent with his nephew, he didn't realize how much he's missed in regards to today's trends. Whether it be technology, glamour, and soforth. Now whenever Elion is confused with something, he often comes to Wulf in hopes to better understand Eorza a bit more. Plus, he's interested how his father is faring... but he Wulf won't let him meet in person.
Elion appreciated the home that Edmont has given him when they ran away to Ishgard. And very much appreciative of Edmont's viewpoint towards the world but still maintaining the traditions that his house upkeeps. And his love for his illegitimate child Haurchefant equals to his two legitimate ones, Grand appears glad to have befriended him. Whenever he has the time, he comes by to visit Lord Fortemps - especially when the thought of Haurchefant comes to mind. He only opes that the man will not be grieving for him so much. Alphinaud and Estenien poke fun at Grand, seeing that it's easily for the Champion to fall in love, so Elion tries to not pry through Edmont's more personal life as he has little to no time to even focus on such matters. Perhaps Grand has developed feelings for him at one point, but nowadays he cannot focus on them and will view him as nothing but a close friend that he's entirely indebt to.
Once an enemy, Gaius is now is a respected friend to Elion... if not more than that. He was barely willing to help Gaius at first for when he came forth as the Shadowhunter, let alone asking for Elion to destroy the secondary and further Ultima weapons when he came back from the First. But for when he joined him in Werlyt, Grand had a change of heart as he watched Gaius desperately trying to save his own children from their deaths while they polited the weapons. And no matter how hard Elion could, he felt it was partly his fault that he could only save only one child... but it appeared enough for Baelsar in the end, despite he continued to grieve. Like Edmont, Elion does occasionally visit Werlyt to see how Gaius fares with his daughter. And as much as Elion, too, wishes for the Shadowhunter to join him in Garlemald during the Endwalker period, it wouldn't have been the best ideas considering he has had a big influence over the Empire and it would have caused enough chaos among the Garlean people. On a personal note, Grand will claim that he holds SOME romantic feelings for Gaius, but he refuses to confess despite the little pushes he gets from his friends.
Ahewann is the satrap known to the public, but only remains a public figure for the real leader - Vrtra (to who is a dragon that remains in hiding). Elion is convinced that Ahewann is the one for him, trying several attempts into trying to please and court the man. If not promising that he'd come and live in Radz-At-Han by his side. The satrap is charmed with Grand's forward attempts, laughing away as jokes.
