An ex-member of the Aether Research Foundation, Orlaith used to be well-revered as a top professor of the Alchemic arts- however the involvement of her brother in her research [which then gave results that the foundation had long searched for] was deemed as inhumane, despite her telling of her brothers voluntary but accidental exposure to an aether shard. Little did she know that the ARA wanted her research, and after finding out she packed up all her belongings, took her brother with her, and burned what she could of her home to make it seem like she'd perished.
For the time being, she resides within the Stygian Wastes, collecting a vast hoard of books from fleamarkets she travels to, and from travellers who stay the night.
