Story Summary

Walking alone in the night, the moon lighting her path, she casts her enchantment along the roadside. Sweet, tantalizing, irresistible aromas wisp around her, exiting her vicinity and capturing the minds of those who mistakenly catch a small whiff. Unknowingly and unwillingly, your legs march towards the smells of her trap. "Just a taste..." you wonder — no one has ever been harmed from just a little self-indulgence. Rounding corners with no clear direction, the sweetness grows stronger. Left, right, where is it coming from? Suddenly emerging from your shadow behind you, she's upon you. She whispers softly to her prey, her sharp nails digging into their skin. "Just a taste, right?" The shadows born from her nightshade slowly wrap themselves around you, and as the moon hides itself from your gaze, you feel that sweetness on your tongue fade. "Don't worry, you'll always be a part of me."

Common Swamp Pitcher Plant

The Common Swamp Pitcher Plant is a carnivorous plant species. By far the most widespread of all Nepenthes, its range covers most of Southeast Asia and all major islands of the Malay Archipelago, stretching from China in the north to Australia in the south. It typically grows in hot, humid swamps close to sea level as it prefers lowlands. It's also commonly grown in greenhouses due its need for warm conditions to grow well.

Deadly Nightshade

Deadly Nightshade is a poisonous perennial herbaceous plant native to Europe, North Africa and Western Asia. The foliage and berries are extremely toxic, known to cause delirium, vivid hallucinations, and even death. It was also believed to be used as a key ingredient in "flying" ointments made by witches, which supposedly helped them to fly to witch gatherings to take part in carousals and meet the devil. It was also historically used in eye drops to make women more attractive by enlarging their pupils, as dilated pupils are a common side effect of its poisoning, which earned it its name Belladonna, meaning 'Beautiful Woman', though this practice has been discontinued due to its high probability of causing blindness.
