Personality

Othello is outgoing, silly, optimistic, fun-loving, talkative, naive and overly energetic. He isn't really the sharpest tool in the shed, but still enjoys life to the fullest.

Appearance

Othello is a tiny short-haired Chihuahua. The main color of his fur is light brown and there are a few darker brown markings around his body. His eyes are also brown. He loves to wear different kinds of small accessories, including a collar and a plastic toy ring. He is 15 cm high and weights 1 kg.

Life

Othello was born into very average life: he was bred by a Chihuahua breeder and was about to be sold to a new owner, but the overly enthusiastic puppy managed to run away from humans. Soon he started to hang around local school where children kept him fed, but eventually he was caught by adults and sent to an animal shelter. There was a mix-up during the delivery, though, and Othello ended up into a ship. His barking caught someone's attention when the ship had already sailed away and his carriage was opened, which lead into him trying to escape once more - and falling straight into water. Fortunately he managed to swim to a close-by island, Andriaana.

In his new home Othello continued doing what he did best: trying to make new friends. He joined the pack of Djala, almost got eaten by a pike with Tommy, learned how to "fly" by eating some amusing plants with the help of Yadaneth and nearly got himself killed after angering a member of Lahko, Fall. He was saved in the last second by the members of Puolikuu, Ardante and Quanta. Othello was endlessly grateful for the two siblings and decided to tag along one of them. When the Chihuahua really didn't seem to be leaving any time soon Ardante, a silent giant, did eventually get used to his company. They grew to become each other's closest friends during the years they adventured together - they even ended up becoming foster parents for a puppy called Pohjantähti - and for a long while it looked like nothing could ever come between them.

Then Lahko decided to come into the lives of Othello and Ardante once again. A member of Lahko called Mikaru tricked poor Othello into joining their religion-like organization, which let the mysterious dark forces of Lahko slither into Othello's head. The Chihuahua had always been epileptic, but it hadn't bothered his life all that much until now, when a force called Herra started to stir his mind. Othello started having seizures more and more often which made him grow tired and lethargic compared to his previous self. Ardante did everything he could to find a way to reverse the effects of Herra, but there was no way one could get away from Lahko once they had joined. At the end Ardante couldn't watch his friend's suffering anymore and Othello, who never wanted any harm to anyone, was suffocated by his best friend in his sleep.

About the character

• Created in 2007.
• I never really liked playing with Othello alone, which is why I paired him pretty much permanently with my another character Ardante. Together they worked like magic.
• Othello was part of a game called Mayan ja Tucin joulupukimo, which sadly cannot be found from the internet anymore.
