Oban was bred as a fancy Stareater, but his breeder decided she thought he looked too dull and uninteresting to be sold as a pet. So instead she had him trained in something useful - housework and cooking - and sold him as a simple house slave.
Lindsay bought Oban while looking for a good house servant. The two get along rather well for Master and slave, and Oban likes taking care of him.
Ollie and Oban are actually half brothers, thought they aren't aware of this. They share a father, a prize stud at the pet breeder they both came from. Oban is rather fond of Ollie and enjoys giving him lessons in how to cook or do house work properly.
