Zathura

Zathura is the blacksheep of the four firelords. His brothers being (Garanzo, Zazoro, and Phayne). All four of them together rule hell as mighty and feared kings among demons. The only 4 creatures known in existence to control fire magic. 

Zathura had grown tired of his throne, so he began exploring the life realms above, searching for something more than what he's always known. Eventually, it found him.

Cereus, an angel of heaven encounters him on her trips to a human world and eventually they fall in love. daww so sweet, so pure  (more will be added later ..)

but this doesn't sit well with Zathura's brothers (nor the high councils of heaven for cereus). 

One day zathura's brothers banded together in a sort of 'intervention'esque fashion when Zathura made what he thought would be a quick pitstop in Hell before venturing out to live life with Cereus. 

His brothers demanded that zathura use his connection with cereus to gain access into heaven so the fire lords can rule heaven and hell together. obviously, being the now goodie twoshoes that zathura has become, he refuses. they see zathura as being 'controlled' by Cereus, that she has him wrapped around her finger and is a threat to their rule in Hell. (for if heaven got cereus to do the same thing they wanted zathura to do, heaven would take over hell. Its a threat from both sides, really.

After Zathura's refusal to their plans, they attack him, ganging up on him 3 against 1, Zathura succumbs to their attacks after an intense and honestly unfair battle. Claiming that this is for his own good, they seal his fire magic deep within him (the tattoo on his arm an indication of this, and the darker blotches on his skin as well). With his fire magic sealed, zathura cannot use any magic, and becomes incredibly weakened, unable to get out of his restraints. his brothers essentially put him under 'house arrest'. locking him in his castle and surrounding him with servants of their choosing, in order to keep an eye on him. His portal gates now closed to him as he cannot use his magic and it is locked with his brother's seals as well. 

he cannot get through to cereus who knows hes in trouble. she also has her own issues in heaven as well and the two are separated for many many years.

- he's a volcano personified. bubbling and hot underneath the surface of his skin, his body is very warm to the touch, almost to the point it could burn you if you keep your hand on him too long.

- zathura has always been extremely expressive and animated when he talks. he really puts his whole body and face into it. its almost anime.

- he cannot use his fire magic but steam and smoke will come out of him or off his skin and hair, especially when he's angry.

- zathura has a terrible temper, but had begun to keep it under wraps after meeting Cereus, whose purifier magic has influenced him greatly. he essentially becomes a better person with her, and she him.

- zathura's normal fire magic when he's not sealed, is lava/magma. he can spew it out of his mouth, nose, ears, eyes, pours, hands, everywhere, really. very goopy, bubbly and drippy. 

- the seal is painful for him. when he tries to use fire magic, he can feel it bubble and rise to the surface just beneath his skin but it is stopped by the seal, he emits immense steam when he breaths out and is weakened to the point hes unable to move or stand around much for the rest of the day or more. this doesn't help when he's angry or upset (and in his current situation he's always upset, especially when his brothers come to visit him.) 

they mock him, especially garanzo who wants to take advantage of Zathura's weakened state, but phayne and zazoro claim Zathura must still be kept to a higher standard than other demons of the realm and not abused by them like they do the rest. He is still a king, but is simply needing to be set back on his correct path, in line with their own. When zathura is finally back on their side and sees things the way they do, they will release him from his bonds. 

- If the demons of the realm catch whiff that the fire lords can be weakened and overtaken like zathura is, it will bring anarchy to their world!

they would risk losing their thrones if the citizens of hell realize the firelords are not all powerful beings like they've lead them all to believe. 

therefore, any demon servants that work for them, should they find out the truth, will be destroyed immediately. 

the demon servants spying on zathura for his brothers, know full well they will not be alive after this is all over, and they have no way of getting word out to the rest of the world anyway. therefore, zathura still technically lives like a king, but trapped within the confines of his castle, on the whim of his malicious and controlling brothers.

zathura pities the demons serving him, but hates them for working for his brothers and not him, he snaps at them when they speak and generally remains secluded in his bedroom for days on end. they fear the other fire lords too much to betray each of their masters and risk immediate elimination, especially seeing that zathura has succumbed to their attacks and seals, as if he were just like any other demon of the land? He had always been such a powerful demon to be in the presence of. its difficult not to now see Zathura as the weakest firelord (why would they risk destruction by siding with him??). 

Zazoro is the only brother that visits him on a regular basis, to persuade zathura and slowly manipulate him back to their side. zathura is forced to put up with his occasional and manipulative visits, he's unable to force zazoro to leave him alone, as his castle/kingdom is technically not zathura's anymore. he has no power over his kingdom or any say to what his brothers decide for him or when they decide to drop on by unannounced. he has no privacy and he knows his brothers greatly enjoy hurting him this way, especially the psychological warfare that is Zazoro's specialty.

its an impossible situation and Zathura feels trapped, frustrated and angry, unable to reach out to the one he loves, and she him. 

one day it will all be over, but for now... he lays dormant, waiting for a chance to escape. They'll pay for this.
