Personality

Ardante is serious, silent, calm, just, self-sacrificing, reserved and shy. Tends to take burdens of others to his own heart and feel guilty if he cannot do anything about them. A very strong fighter.

Appearance

Ardante is a massive wolfdog who has never been able to physically feel touch or pain. He has short, yellow fur with some brown and black markings. He has droopy, fluffy ears, short tail, yellow eyes and a few scars around his body. He is 90 cm high and weights 65 kg.

Life

Ardante and his numerous siblings were born for Cobaea and Rauko, a couple living in the island of Andriaana. Cobaea was part of the clan of Puolikuu, a family dedicated to destroying an evil religion-like gang Lahko. Ardante and the other puppies were taught to respect the family's way of life and, of course, how to become efficient fighters. After growing up Ardante left the nest with his favorite sister Quanta and together they started to explore their home island. Fairly soon their skills were put to test as they met a member of Lahko chasing Chihuahua called Othello. The siblings got into their first fight and saved the tiny dog who gratefully promised to follow them from now on. Quanta could barely stand the overly energetic dog and eventually left from his and her brother's company, but Ardante wasn't too sad as he on the other hand had grown quite attached to Othello.

The two males adventured a long while together, making some friends and maybe even more enemies as well as getting into some pretty ridiculous situations. One day though it was Ardante's turn to save yet another living being, this time the target being a female wolf named Bedio. Ardante realized soon afterwards he was developing a major crush on the kind wolf. Despite his shyness he managed to confess his feelings eventually and the two became a couple. Ardante was happier than ever, him having his best friend and his new mate around, until it became apparent how much Bedio loved puppies. Because of his inability to feel anything physical Ardante was unfortunately also unable to conceive offspring, but he couldn't bear the thought of dooming Bedio into never becoming a mother either. That's why after a few months he ended their relationship.

Like as a cruel prank of fate pretty soon after that Ardante and Othello found an abandoned puppy Pohjantähti. The two males had no other options than try to raise her as well as they could. Only after the task was completed and Tähtis was old enough to survive on her own Ardante started to notice how Othello had changed recently. He became more apathetic every day and started to suffer from seizures. The reason was revealed to be Lahko, as the Chihuahua had been fooled to join their ranks, which affected his mind. Ardante did everything he could to reverse the process, but eventually there was nothing else left to be done than let Othello get out of his misery by ending his life.

Bedio, Pohjantähti and Othello out of his life Ardante became severely depressed and stopped pretty much caring about anything around him. He didn't have to suffer for long though, as soon Lahko started a direct, merciless war against Puolikuu. One after another the clan members fell in front of their mortal enemy, and Ardante wasn't spared either. He fought to the very last blood drop and was afterwards remembered within Lahko as that one giant who had to be shredded to pieces to make him finally stop fighting back.

• The name Ardante doesn't really mean anything, but it was meant to give off a sturdy, valiant vibe.
• Likes hunting a lot.
• Uses rather short sentences while speaking.

About the character

• Created in 2008.
• Even though an animal without sense of touch and pain wouldn't likely survive for long in the wild for real, I was willing to sacrifice that much realism for the sake of interesting situations the trait would bring Ardante to. Also I doubt it was the most unrealistic thing in an RPG of dogs waging religion wars against each other anyway.
