Woah, a THING
Hatched from an egg and born into dragon form, Kiko and her brother were one of the few lung serpents to ever exist. For a time, Ezo's peaceful pause from mongol and shogun influence gave way to celestials and yokai alike. The land was abundant with magic and mythical creatures. In many years to follow, Ezo eventually modernized into Hokkaido, as soon as war seemed to finally end. Kiko and her brother learned to take on more familiar forms: wolves like their parents, where they would fit better in contemporary society. Magic was slowly fading, but children born into wizardry - such as Kiko - fought to keep it in this new world.

APPEARANCE
Kiko's heritage has landed her a complexity of markings to form along her body, many ever-changing to resemble her environment or feelings. Like her father, she is striped and done over with naturally wolfish patterns, and retains a lot of his family's colors. Pale autumn hues contrast with bright, forest green eyes and mini orange-horns. They are simplified for the sake of a normal form, but will continue to grow out while she's in dragon form.
Some of her more curious markings take the shape of japanese symbols, such as clouds along her hind legs, and a badge on her left outer thigh. This badge resembles a leafy stalk against a full moon or perhaps a sun. Fall leaves of many different colors (although her preference is for red or orange) often stake claim to her fur and get tangled in her wavy pelage. She loves to wear clothing with bells and tassels, and is often adorned in an overcoat, scarf, and/or arm and knee braces.

PERSONALITY
Kiko tries to get the best of both worlds; she takes a lot after both of her parents. Curious, impulsive, and fierce like her father, but patient, kind, and disciplined like her mother. And she is stubborn to boot, like the both of them.
However, Kiko has adapted very well to the current circumstance. She still holds old traditions to her heart and values ancient wisdoms, but embraces new ideas regularly. She is particularly fond of technologies like film and video games, which provide her a new output other than exploration and reading books. She gets a kick out of drama and the spicier things in life, so she collects relationships as if it were a hobby. She might seem snippy and petty with her friends at times, but in the end she is always just eager to learn about other people.
HISTORY
Kiko, alongside her twin brother, was born into Clan Ryou during the medieval years of Ezo. Due to her mother's blessing from the god Mori, Kiko was hatched from an egg as a dragon and granted magical prowess - as well as slower aging and eventually immortality. So as Ezo slowly evolved into Hokkaido while times grew more modern, she remained quite young and impressionable, but had grown to be wiser. Growing up she saw death all around her, but her family and her yokai friends seemed to be eternal. That much kept her going.
Eventually, the days of yokai and magic seemed to fade. Rather than battling demons, newer problems appeared: nurturing the nature that was left behind, and finding a way in this new society. She had never known big business before, but now it seemed to dictate her home. Pushing her worries to the side, she adorned a modern form to fit in and go to school. There, she could meet new friends and enjoy different past-times, even though it was likely to fade away as well.

I met this stray yokai on the streets awhile back. I like to visit him and bring him fresh food and water!

A fellow lung dragon (or as they call it, noodle dragon) from back when we were few and far between in Ezo. We were basically raised together!
