Varan

General info
Varan is a half-karkan in the unique position of being happily raised by his dam. Due to his half-breed nature he comes across as infifferent to most and has a hard time empathizing with others. Still he is charismatic and easily makes friends or at the very least warm acquaintances. Varan makes a living as a trapper, regularly traveling throughout the clans to sell his furs and other things he comes across in the old city ruins.

Appearance
As a half Karkan, Varan has grey skin, blank eyes, and a horn and spines on his face and back. His hair is black and straight. He is an aged Valon, in his seventies, but appears closer to fifty physically. He generally has an amused or easy expression. When angered, his eyes glow yellow.

Abilities
A telepath, Varan is capable of breaching language barriers or can try to ease a troubled mind. Unfortunately, he is far more capable at reaching into another's mind to bring out their worst nightmares or memories by touching them. He only does this to distract those who threaten him.

Bio
Varan's dam was a victim of the Karkan and yet could not bring himself to give up his baby. He named his child Varan which means "the pure" in hope this would bring out all the Valon in him. Varan grew up a happy child accepted by his tribesmen, but his nature still pushed him towards solitude and he became a trapper. He was on the east coast when he had a romantic liason with Siric whom later gave birth to Vamic. Varan was made aware of his son and altered his routes that he may visit whenever possible. Along with Siric, Varan is close friends with Egalan.
