Elda

Elda is a harpy, and one of the first non-human students to attend a human school. She is the only harpy at the school, and this comes with a new set of struggles: as she doesn’t have hands or opposable feet, she needs a scribe or a text-to-speech device to complete most assignments. She has to take tests in a special room with an aide to write down the answers for her, which she has to schedule a time for by herself. 

Outside of school, she is part of the cheerleading team. She’s lighter than a human her size would be, due to her bird-like bones, so she often participates in acrobatic stunts. She isn’t allowed to fly in professional competitions, but when cheering on the school team she often makes an entrance by flying in. 

Despite her fiery appearance, Elda is rather demure. Though extroverted, she doesn‘t enjoy talking much; she just values the comfort of being around others. She enjoys cuddling, and especially loves her feathers stroked. While they are mostly self-preening, it’s the thought that counts.
