Since the long feud between the oni and the people of Kakumei had left a poor young Ion stranded alone in the midst of the conflict, but fortunately for him, the young oni who was later found and raised by a vagabond monk. The monk took pity on him and decided to raise him as his disciple, teaching him virtues and the ways of humanity. Together, they lived in the far reaches of the Shinryu Mountains, uninterrupted by both oni and humanity for a long time. Without the presence of his other kind, the monk feared that the young oni's powers will eventually grow beyond what he could handle, and sealed off his potential powers in a pair of swords. One of which was given to him when he grew older, and the other kept by the monk himself. Only when the time arises should he pass the other half of the sword to his disciple.

One night, he found himself left alone in the temple one day. His master no where to be seen, yet in the skies were bouts of unexplained darkness. It was nothing like he had ever seen. Perhaps that was what his master was looking into, he thought. Stepping down from the mountain for the first time, he decided to leave by his own instincts, only to discover how much had changed over the years he has lived in recluse. There were strange people who walked in his lands, people who may have intentions unexplained. But most of all, they could have something to do with the darkness in the sky. Having a more human appearance has helped him to disguise within the crowd, and from the information he has gathered (or so he thought), the mainland could be the root of it all. He was determined to search for the old man, as well as retrieve the other half of the dual swords as he was promised.

He made his way to the mainland by a stowaway boat, but his landing was an awkward one. The culture was entirely different; the way the people spoke, how they lived their life. It was strange, yet still somewhat piqued his curiousity. However, his first impression of the mainland was already rock bottom from the fact that he was approached by a strange man who scammed him of the only memento that his master left for him. (He was naive to have trusted strangers after all.) Angry, frustrated and annoyed, he started to wander around looking for the man who stole his sword (assuming he still has it even), as well as his missing master. Little did he know that he was about to wind up in the midst of a certain, bizarre circumstance...

The Answerer, Fragarach

The Fragarach is a pair of swords forged from the fangs of a powerful divine beast, hidden in sheathes made of hard, blackened tree sap. It consisted of a white blade in a black sheathe, and the other a black blade in a white sheathe. The white blade was given to Ion, while the other was still in possession of Lámfada. They were also known as an anti-demon weapon used for sacred rites, as his previous owner is a monk after all. Akin to the relationship of all oni with their chosen Regalia, the true extent of his powers are sealed into the blades itself.

Unfortunately, the blade is currently lost and he has been searching for it ever since. His powers are greatly limited to the point he would be seen as no more than a human, albeit with several martial advantages. As the Fragarach consists of two swords, the power is divided evenly in both and he having only access to one, his powers were still limited. Only if he would wield both will his the full extent of his power be revealed.
