⭐ Mackenzie enjoys people watching, both deliberately setting out to do so, or simply watching people as they candidly go about their day. She finds it interesting to see how people act, the small moments where she can see when they put on an act for other people versus how they act when they're alone, and all sorts of things like that. While she doesn't go so far as to guess the names of people she sees on a more regular basis she does recognize them and can be happy when she sees they have something nice happen to them. Rarely stepping in to make that good thing happen, like sending a nice anonymous gift, unless she can see they really need it.

⭐ Mackenzie likes studying and chronicling aspects of her family history, and by extension Japanese history, although most of what she does know came from researching the former. In her research she has learned about far distant things like the Kishi clan's first forays into Korea during the Japanese Invasions Of Korea during the 1500s to more modern things in living memory such as her grandfather's survival of the Hiroshima atomic bombing, his being labeled a Hibakusha (被爆者/被曝者) as a result, and the falling out which led to her father and uncle moving to the United States to avoid the stigma that came with that title. Along with that, her home is filled with family relics and various, affordable, artifacts of Japanese history with her most prized possession being a katana which belonged to her grandfather but has belonged to their family for centuries. While it was given to her father he in turn gave it to her following her grandfather's death.

⭐ Mackenzie takes care of and feeds local birds via her apartment's balcony, much to the annoyance of her neighbors, who are annoyed by things like the early morning bird calls. It goes beyond simply putting up bird feeders, she also has a few bird houses, and even a bird bath up there, with the limited room she has to move around out there being limited to just checking on and refilling or cleaning things but otherwise leaving her balcony to the birds.

⭐Mackenzie hasn't driven since her accident. Simply being put behind the wheel of a car that's on is enough to induce a panic attack although compared to how it used to be that is a marked improvement. Where she couldn't even get in a vehicle at all without having a similar reaction. Even still, if she has to be in a car, she prefers to be in the backseat. Instead, if she can, she will usually opt to take whatever form of public transportation can get her from point A to point B.

⭐ Mackenzie is incredibly fast when it comes to writing things down. This is due to both her job often needing her to scribble down notes and such but primarily due to it being her main form of communication since most people she interacts with don't actually know Sign Language but can read something she writes on a bit of paper or on a white board. As a direct result of that, she keeps a small notebook (with a pen attached via a cord) on her person at all times in order to help her communicate since being left without a way to, figuratively, speak tends to be some of the most frustrating days she can remember.

⭐ Mackenzie tends to cut her own hair. This started when it used to be uncomfortable having her face and head being near sharp objects and buzzing devices shortly after her accident and, while she has gotten better on that front, she has gotten used to cutting her own hair as a result. Not just because she doesn't have to deal with people who try to engage in small talk during a hair cut who might not realize she can't talk, to her hands being covered by the barber cape, to simply it being cheaper to do it herself.

⭐ Mackenzie's apartment is a mess. Mostly due to the fact that, minus aforementioned familial items, she simply leaves things strewn about and tossed all willy nilly. While she doesn't seem to mind this, mostly due to the fact that despite the mess she knows exactly where everything is, anyone who might come to her apartment find their ability to move around slightly hampered.  She does clean up if she expects a guest but if not it tends to stay like it is. The one exception to her rule about cleaning up for a guest would be when her cousin Shizuki stops by. Mostly because her cousin is more than used to it.
