A scholar and an archivist, Vail likes keeping things sorted and in some kind of order. He needs stability in order to feel comfortable. Everything else feels as though he's on thin ice and the slightest upset will send him drowning.
Despite his tendencies to sort and record, Vail is not prone to neurosis. His calm demeanor helps override his upset, but he is way more cautious than what's considered normal. He'll be the most likely to have covered as many bases as he can think of ahead of time.
Vail is actually very fast, phyiscally and mentally. His profession made him good at numbers, but he's no mathematical genius.
