Profile

Interested in multiverse theory since he first heard about it, Daedalus-- or Dallas, to most everybody-- was one of the weird kids that had trouble shutting up and hyperfocused on things a lot. Now he's... pretty much about the same, except now his "annoying" qualities are actually helpful and also he got validated after managing to dump himself into another universe and befriend a parallel self.

Backstory

Copy grew up in another universe from Chaosverse entirely! His home universe is a lot less chaotic and doesn't suffer from being constantly under threat, so he was pretty much just a normal highschool student. Admittedly, he was one with magic abilities, but that was fairly common and a trait shared with everyone he knew. Still, he wished that something interesting would happen, and after gaining dimensional travel as a special interest he'd fixate on it and all of the possible worlds and adventures out there.

Things then took a turn when he overheard one of his classmates, Blur, attempting to convince another student about something that had happened to him. Apparently, Blur had actually gotten dragged into another universe, made friends, and gotten sent back.. although his habit of telling exaggerated stories to make himself sound cooler meant that no one believed him. Still, he had a lot more details than he'd normally put into a story, and Dallas found himself believing him wholeheartedly. They ended up having a lot in common and became friends... and then verification of Blur's story came about in the form of a new transfer student, Jordan the Hedgehog. Specifically, the Jordan that Blur had met in the other universe.

Jordan's existence in their universe and memory of events meant that everything Blur had said had been 100% true... although there'd been a little bit of exaggeration of his abilities, as usual. Still, if it was actually possible to cross over to another universe, Dallas wanted to try. With assistance from Blur and his friend who had unintentionally been behind his journey, Dallas launched himself into the other universe... and didn't come back.

Not for several years, anyway. In his defense, he had a lot more on his mind.

The other world was similar to his home dimension, yet so different in so many ways. Several of his friends didn't have counterparts here, while others were completely different-- Scourge, for example, went from being the cool yet rude kid of the class to being a rampaging villain created by something going awry with Sonic's super form, and while there was a version of Jordan here he had a completely different name and, for some reason, hair colour. And then, of course, there was Copy's own counterpart: physically identical save for having a ponytail, with a grumpier personality and an action-packed past of having joined GUN at a young age after his hometown of Westopolis was destroyed in an alien invasion. The other Dallas was rather taken aback by suddenly meeting another him, but after some explanation he allowed for his parallel self to stay with him and learn more about his dimension.

Of course, them both being named Dallas was bound to be confusing. The one native to this universe started calling him "Copy" as a joke, and after some fun banter he ended up with the nickname "Double". After all, neither of them is really the "original", parallel universes don't really work that way, so... they're technically both duplicates of each other, right? Or something like that. Double's not really sure how it works at all, but Copy's pretty gung-ho about the topic so he just rolls with it.

With the cover story as Double's twin, Copy stayed with him and grew accustomed to life in Chaosverse. Things were a lot more fast-paced, with the world being in danger several times a year, but Copy realized this was the excitement and adventure he'd been hoping for all this time. Sure, he'd left his home dimension behind, but... he didn't really want to go back. If Double picked up on it, he never said anything... and, in fact, enjoyed having a more outgoing version of himself around.

Things shifted once Eggman took over. With Sonic presumed dead, not much stood in Eggman's way, and even GUN was wiped out by Infinite's power. Still, Double stubbornly refused to back down, and even when he was ordered to pull out of his and Copy's town when it was under siege he refused orders and ditched GUN in favour of the Resistance. Copy joined alongside him, and while he had very little combat experience he ended up becoming a good help with mission control and organizing everything.

i almost put copy's image as double's, how fucking ironic would that have been
