Profile

Chosen of Yakumori the Marchioness of Intangible Borders, a minor god of boundaries, who sacrificed herself to empower the eldest of her shrine maidens as a champion to deal with a plague of undead. Reina maintains the old shrine in honor of the dead god, long after the rest have left, partially because she genuinely isn't sure of what to do with her life and partially because it's a very visible boundary that she can point to and say, "you have crossed this, get fucked asshole".

Her abilities deal almost excusively with the immaterial, and she can herself become immaterial for short bursts at a time. She has no direct power over any being that is not in some way violating a boundary, and there are very hard limits to her ability to rules lawyer a crossed boundary, like the boundary needing to be clearly marked or announced in advance--this isn't a "power of borders (everything has a border)" situation.

Reina is, despite her external rough and hard facade, very depressed. Most of her friends have died or drifted away while she remains unaging, and her relationships with the spirits of the area is purely business. She drinks a lot more than she really should, and rarely leaves the shrine outside of work or getting food. She has a strong tendency towards spite and expressing uncertainty as anger, which causes further problems. She's generally quite blunt and rude, especially when she's already worked up, and is often far more cutting and hurtful than she means to be.

She is a average-height woman with notable babyface, long dark brown hair, and red eyes. She has a small mole under her left eye. She still wears the red-and-white uniform of a shrine maiden, but has modified it to have more frills and bows, and keeps her hair tied back with an equally frilly bow. Attempts to make her tone it down have universally lead to her amping it up in some manner. It's not clear how much of her current look is spite and how much is her personal aesthetic.

She is a genuinely terrifying sniper. More than one attempt to create a power vaccuum ended with the attacker(s) having their skulls filled with arrows sent from an unseen bow.

She's 74 years old and was, for about two decades, the only major Exalted power in the region. Crimson setting up shop nearby wasn't an issue at first, but as his territory expanded she made it very clear that her village was a boundary she would not allow him to cross. He has not pushed this, which she appreciates; she's genuinely uncertain if she would be able to take him in a fight, and really doesn't want to find out. It would be a stretch to say they trust each other, but there is a mutual understanding that they really don't want to waste resources fighting and they do sometimes meet to discuss local news over drinks, commiserate over being Fucking Tired, and spar.

Her anima lighting up has a few weird effects once it really gets going--the light from it tints her hair purple (despite the color being both violet and red), and more notably her own outline becomes fuzzy, as if she was caught mid-dematerialization. The very edges of it at Iconic have red ribbons tying down the outermost tendrils, and within it shows an empty deep-violet void filled with red eyes that can percieve dematerialized spirits. Reina can see out those eyes, though it is intensely uncomfortable for her to do so and doing so for too long makes her start to act weird.
