BACKSTORY

Aubergine grew up in a wealthy family from the Starshooter capital. Her father was the founder of a favored servant and slave trading ring, which Aubergine would go on to inherit one day. Her mother, who unfortunately passed along with Aubergine's younger-brother-to-be during childbirth, was a socialite and patron of the arts. Together, the two were known for their extravagant parties and philanthropy, all of which supported the betterment of the Starshooter species and their culture.

As a child, Aubergine was not at all as sullen and edgy as she is today. In school, she had dreams of becoming an actress and partook in many school plays and concerts. However, she is said to have been particularly mediocre at both acting and singing (and, really, at any sort of performance all together,) having never been named the star of any show she was a part of throughout her school career. She dropped the dream of becoming a star herself at the end of her high school years, choosing instead to focus on the position she would soon inherit in the family business.

Fate and fortune still awaited her down this path, of course, and she became apprenticed to her father's business in her late teens, taking up full leadership by the time she was 24 and her father was ready to retire. She now manages most of the day to day duties of the operation, though her father remains involved and available for any advice that she needs.

While she's given up on her own dreams of fame in the spotlight, Aubergine remains a frequent patron of live theater and musicals. In recent years, she has begun to use the money from her work and her inheritance to position herself as the primary benefactor of the Préoccupation! Au Théâtre theater (known as P!AT for short.) She is not particularly open about it, but she remains obsessed with these performances and often sings showtunes to herself when she's left alone.
