Heather is one of the many members of Tricky's circus, offering psychic services to visitors. This includes fortune telling, tarot card readings, and her specialty-- clairvoyance. Many are drawn to Heather's unique ability to read the history of an object, often bringing her family heirlooms or personal items belonging to loved ones to learn more about them.
While Heather is more than happy to offer her services to others, her ability weighs heavily on her psyche. Understandably, she sometimes discovers what she would rather not know.
Appearance

Heather's hair is extremely long, reaching her ankles; it is naturally blonde, but has been dyed pink. To match her dyed hair, Heather wears pink contact lenses over her blue eyes. Heather has freckles over her cheeks and shoulders, as well as some on her chest. Heather is especially tall for a woman, standing at 6'1", which is often accentuated by high heels.
Heather's sense of style can be described as soft goth. She enjoys high-waisted shorts and jeans, crop tops, and heeled boots that reach her knees. Heather's glasses are her magical totem; her eyesight is fine. Heather wears pink lip gloss and heavy mascara.
Heather is Abirelle's equivalent to French, and speaks with a French accent.
Design Notes
- Heather has a lot of freckles. Mostly on her cheeks, but also on her chest and shoulders.
- The frames of Heather's glasses are hot pink. Whether the lens is clear or pink as well is up to the artist.
About
History
Magic abilities in Abirelle are hereditary; clairvoyance has been an ability in Heather's lineage for many decades, beginning with her great grandmother. While magic capabilities are a recessive gene, and thus not commonly passed onto children, both Heather's grandmother and mother had clairvoyant abilities, as well.
During Heather's teenage years, her mother gifted her the pair of eyeglasses she presently wears. These glasses once belonged to her great grandmother, and are the source of magic needed for Heather to use her abilities.
Heather currently works at Tricky's circus, running a fortune-telling booth. She takes great pride in her abilities and is always eager to offer her services to anyone who shows interest. While Heather learns many fascinating facts about her clients' family histories, she isn't exempt from discovering dark parts of their histories, as well. Heather loves her job, and is proud of her capabilities, but she indeed wishes she could avoid seeing historic events that are traumatic in nature.
Personality
Heather is a polite, soft-spoken woman, often preferring to observe and listen rather than engage in conversation directly. She isn't necessarily shy, simply reserved.
Many perceive Heather to be wise. She is highly socially mature; having met many individuals and families via her business, Heather has a great respect for people and their histories. She doesn't find it hard to understand others' motives.
Although typically seen as inviting, it isn't difficult to tell that Heather has a weight on her shoulders. Due to some of the trauma she's experienced second-hand, Heather has a certain melancholy about her.

- Despite having worked for her for years, Heather hardly knows anything about Tricky. Aside from the fact that she's... eccentric.
- Heather's closest friend is Merle. Heather's clairvoyance combined with Merle's familiarity with death make for a good combination.
- Currently, Heather is unaware of Venus' existence.

Magic and Abilities
Clairvoyance
Heather is a clairvoyant; essentially, she is capable of gaining valuable information about an object's history simply by touching it. Clairvoyants are highly treasured members of detective teams and police crews due to this ability, as it often provides insight to crime scenes. They also tend run popular attractions at carnivals, such as tarot booths and fortune-telling services. This is true for Heather herself.
The strength of this ability can be wildly different. Some clairvoyants can only tell an object's history; a skilled clairvoyant can do this with people as well, should the other party be mentally consenting. If they are not, then a mental barrier will block the clairvoyant from probing into their history. Experienced, skilled clairvoyants may be able to break an individual's mental barrier, but doing so can be mentally draining and even painful.
In contrast to this however, some clairvoyants can decipher the past of a deceased individual. Since they are no longer alive, they have no mental guards preventing a clairvoyant session. This is where a clairvoyants' skills become invaluable to police investigations. While any clairvoyant can read the history of an object of evidence, the best evidence comes from the source itself; the victim of the crime.
Of course, every ability has limitations. It'd be impossible, even for an extremely skilled clairvoyant, to see every aspect of an object or person's history. The older the event, the more difficult it will be to decipher.
Not every magician uses a grimoire or spell scroll to cast their magic. Some magic users require a sort of totem as their source of power; in Heather's case, magic energy may be drawn from the eyeglasses she wears. The item in question varies between individuals, however they are not capable of choosing their totems. Heather's glasses are a family heirloom, and once belonged to her great grandmother.
