Mikan

Mikan faces a lot of hatred for being a bakeneko. Despite the way bakenekos are known to not be inherently cruel towards humans, most people simply see her fangs and ears and turn a cold shoulder. She often gets into scuffles and fights with people because he insists people don't just turn their back on him, and so she often has to travel from town to town after people get sick of putting with with their stubbornness and arguments. They meet Akuma who is a much older bakeneko who insists they can help mentor him so humans will never turn their back on him again - or to make sure she never needs humans again.
