What: Unfulfilled Art Trade/Incorrect Crediting

This is a personal bulletin made with the intention of cautioning people in their interactions with this person. It is not meant to witch hunt or harass them, simply sharing my personal experience with them.

Spacedreams joined a Discord server I was in and sent me a message asking me if I did art trades. I said yes and asked them for examples of their art, which I was happy with, so we discussed details of what each of us would draw. I agreed on drawing them a bust/icon of their character Cloverstem.

Later on that night, they asked me if I was done yet already and I told them that no, I hadn't had time yet. (I later found out from a friend that Spacedreams tried to rush art from them as well.) They messaged me the following day as well, but didn't follow up that day's message.

Spacedreams DM'd me again on the 31st, inquiring about if I'd finished yet. At this time, I was in the middle of a very bad bout of the flu, something I had talked about in the server I thought we shared so I assumed they were aware of this (I realised after that they'd left the server sometime between the 25th and the 31st). They said that they were doing the lineart for their side of the trade and I repeated that I had been ill, so I hadn't gotten around to it yet. I apologised to them and said that I would start on it as soon as I had the energy. At this point, they had been waiting for only a week when we hadn't agreed on a timeline in the first place.

I sent them a watermarked version of my side of the trade and they seemed happy with it (I deleted the message after all of this but you can see they responded with 'seggsy'). They then said they would start on their side soon, which confused me because they said prior that they had started the lineart. They then told me that they didn't like the last sketch they did so they were redoing it.

A separate issue cropped up at this point and I realised that a friend of mine had done art for them and the credit on the art was linked to a discord account instead of any of the artist's socials. So I provided links for Spacedreams in case they hadn't realised that the artist had those links available. (I will talk more about this later, I have some screenshots from the artist involved because they don't use TH that much.)

Two hours later, Spacedreams DM'd me and told me they wouldn't be doing their art and I would have to take a character instead. This annoyed me a little as it wasn't what we had agreed earlier but I took a look through the characters and said I would be interested in Nyke in return for the art. They then asked for more art for a character I never even wanted in the first place so I cancelled the trade.

I would caution you all against accepting art trades from this user as they seemed to have no intention of finishing their half and then tried to force a character trade for more art on me. They also repeatedly rushed both me and another artist to finish the art they were essentially getting for free.

As a side note on what I mentioned about rushing a second artist and not crediting their art correctly, here are some screenshots from Spacedreams' DMs with a friend of mine who drew the art pieces for Cloverstem. They never asked the artist for links to their socials and wanted to know the exact time that this free piece of art would be done. It's nothing shady but it is something which made the artist uncomfortable and should be brought up.

Edit:

It has come to light that they have done this to several people in the discord server I mentioned earlier. It seems that they are joining servers to ask for art and try to sell their characters. Nothing happened to the person in the screenshot linked but this shows that they clearly have a pattern of this behaviour.

Edit 2:

They appear to have an alternate account by the name of @/dahliaflowerss which they have transferred some of their characters to immediately after the account was created. They have also reuploaded slightly altered versions of a few characters, namely Squirreltail.

They also haven't corrected the credits for various pieces of art which is what I was checking on when I realised they had an alternate account.
