Queer they / them Disabled
About
Hey there! Welcome!
I'm Cey—though many call me Chrono—and I'm a Queer illustrator and photographer! I'm Deaf, disabled, and I live in Melbourne, Australia!
Aside from visual art, my hobbies include writing, music, and several sports that I shouldn't be doing, but do anyway—like skating. I'm currently learning Auslan (Australian Sign Language) as a Deaf person.
I am very openly Queer (LGBTQIA+), and I advocate heavily for Queer rights—especially when it comes to transgender / nonbinary rights, and intersectionality, particularly when it comes to being both Queer and disabled. I want the Queer and disabled youth of the future to feel much more comfortable and accepted in society, and not have to deal with the internalised queerphobia and / or ableism that I and those around me have; there is nothing wrong or shameful about being who we are, and it's high time we start teaching this to kids from a young age and stop teaching them to discriminate.
The last few years of my life have been a struggle with both my physical and mental health declining rapidly; thankfully, the latter has been improving quite a bit lately, and I am eternally grateful to the powers that be for allowing that to (finally) happen.
Because of my experiences with neurodivergence and mental illness, particularly in conjunction with physical disability, I have made an effort to learn to incorporate that into my work—and I can most certainly say I am proud to have done so.
However, as much as all this is well and good, I am a normal human being with likes, dislikes, etc.; my favourite colour is purple, especially lavender, and I enjoy thunderstorms—much to the dismay of my fiancé, who hates them—especially when it's warm. Spring is my favourite season just because of this. I listen to quite a bit of Welcome to Night Vale, which sparked a fair few fan works of mine over time, and has caused my music tastes become quite eccentric these days; it's usually either music played in episodes, soundtracks, or whatever concoction of songs my fiancé has put together to help me write. If I'm not writing, working, or sleeping, I'm probably playing Warframe, Undertale, or Nihilumbra.
I don't have many characters of my own, though I am a hoarder, so who knows? This place may be how I come to gather up dozens of fictional children—it's certainly a goal, because I love and cherish all my OCs.
