hey all i hope you are well!

this has been a particularly heinous block of months for work and i'm hoping that june is calmer so i can actually devote some time to projects with friends and creative outlets that arent phone games. (even though animal restaurant is out and its amazing and soothing and you should all get it) also a lot of my family is coming in from out of country in july and i'm really looking forward to it.

I've always wanted to host a contest for art or designs but the art contests feel restrictive sometimes because if you arent picked you just....made fan art. Design contests can be really really cool and people can make money off their designs if they arent picked! However I really should not be collecting more designs on purpose.

I thought about maybe an outfit design contest? 

Ideas so far:

• A handful of characters will be given with themes for outfit designs (more or less based on interest). 
• Outfits can be as sketchy as you want as long as they are readable.
• Can be drawn on base. Highly encouraged for the next reason.
• Outfits will NOT be drawn on the character you picked when you are submitting. This way if you are not picked, you may repurpose or sell your design!

• You will receive money!!! I haven't thought of the tiers yet but probably $100/200/300?? (possibly more based on interest!)
• You will be asked to draw the winning design on the off-base character that you made it for. Again can be as sketchy or refined as you like.

what i am looking for

• readable fullbody outfit designs drawn on the character
• does not have to be lineart or super clean, i actually prefer sketches, even messy ones, as long as you can tell whats what. 
• please be comfortable drawing wings (not as important) and a range of body types. 
• outfits will be fantasy!
• 2-4 week turnaround time
• ability to create on basic themes/refs, i give styles that i like or particular things that i enjoy in an outfit but leave a lot up to you! i rarely ask for changes

HISTORY A Fragment is an unsettled being. Most speculate it starts out as a spirit that takes over a newborn's form, just slides in and smothers the child's being before it has a chance to develop, growing and developing as that body does. That is the easiest way for them to gain solid form, but they are not bound to it. The Fragment can slice off parts of its personality or its senses and create extra forms (called Splinters) that embody those traits. The more important it is to the Fragment's survival, the stronger/corporeal and more independent the Splinter will be. If the copy dies, so does the trait, and the Fragment can never get it back. Most Fragments exist in stasis in the Nowhere, a pitch black plane of existence between several other realms. Because of this environment, Dark Fragments are actually the most common.  They are often enslaved or tricked into working for others. Sometimes even adopted and raised by important families if they are noticed early enough. There are royals who would offer their own child for a chance to raise a Fragment instead, simply because of their espionage/military/leading possibilities. Imagine having a son who you forced to give up their 'self-worth', you now have a very very powerful pawn. Rogue or full-grown Fragments are never trusted, as you cannot tell which might be the original.. AND, a very powerful Fragment might be able to force their Splinter into another person's body, allowing them to take control of that person.  Their weakest Splinters appear as elemental silhouettes corresponding to their bond. Glossary of terms- Splinter | The corporeal copy made by the sacrifice of a Fragment's trait Whole | The main form of the Fragment, their core. Nowhere | Spawning/staging ground for all Fragments. (Very rare for them to leave of their own power as they are in stasis).

ELEMENTS Fragments are tied to elements that allow them certain abilities. Their innate element is their starting point and many of them never go beyond that or master it beyond parlor tricks and elemental Splinters. Under certain circumstances a Fragment may warp beyond their base element and gain a new sphere of power.  earth -> life/disease fire -> chaos/steel light -> astral dark -> death/sin air -> (help) water -> ice  While warping can afford a greater sphere of power, there are disadvantages. The warped element could be erratic or costly and take much more time to master. While Fragments with base elements are technically weaker, their mastery of a single element can make them a significant threat.  There are endless possibilities for each element, and multiple warps of the same Fragment are possible.  Fragments who warp under great stress are unlikely to ever master their element.  There is legend of a Fragment who has warped so many times they have crossed all the elemental lines and are considered the Absolute. Just a legend though.

I have a strawberry with stars for seeds on my hip, watercolor teal/magenta/purple/black leopard spots on one shoulder and bats with negative space stars on the other. There is an extra large bat (BOSS BAT) on my shoulder with a negative bow tie. They tie into a cloud with a hanging sky on the back of my neck.

HISTORY

Ravagers emerged during a time when fighting for land and survival was commonplace. They took this one step further by often warring for sport. They were bonded clans of people lead by Holuth, a man praised for his ferocity and said to have been possessed with the spirit of a bear. As a people, they revered strength above all else, whether it be of the mind or body. To be better than all others in a skill was the mark of a great Ravager. They spent their time with battle and strategy, gaining land, wealth and power for their people though sometimes with sacrifice. As their numbers dwindled through war and confrontation, they grew desperate for an advantage not gained through sheer force of will. Holuth prayed for a way for his people to gain strength in battle and was visited by a mysterious entity who offered tremendous strength for seemingly no price. This was the birth of the Gate.

• The Gate appeared on all mature Ravagers soon after. It was a painful experience that Holuth had to convince his people was for the best.
• Some of his people were against this "gift" and happened to be the first to fall to the new strength. 
• .....
• Please feel free to put your Ravager in any time period or setting, as they could have lived long enough or descended from long lived Ravagers.
• Originally they spoke common, but their written language is different. They changed this up for secrecy purposes. The runes they write have long forgotten sounds, no one can speak them anymore.

THE GATE

The Gate is the name for the parasite that Ravagers carry inside them and refers to the open wound that appears on their body when it becomes active. The parasite grants near immortality and immunity to human disease in exchange for the life force of other beings. If it is not fed by others, it will start to drain the Ravager instead. The longer a Ravager has been feeding its Gate, the stronger their regeneration will be. It appears on the body as a stretch of flesh (can be the size of a playing card or as long as their leg) anywhere on their body where the skin has been stripped away and only smooth sinew remains. It is an obvious weak spot and a source of pride that Ravagers decorate to both protect and draw attention to. 

• The amount of time added to the Ravager's life is proportional to how long the victim had already lived. It adds up. This is a reason not to kill children, as it adds very little. 
• It is frowned upon to kill before you have reached maturity, as the Gate will freeze your appearance at the time of the kill. They will retain your prime physical appearance as long as the Gate is kept fed, and will start to age or decay if they wait too long. 
• DECORATIONS- These are chosen for personal preference or based on lineage specifics. They can be bone, gems, wire, metals, cloth, just about anything. (Averno simply has bone in his to honor his line from Holuth, who decorated his Gate with a wolf's jaw). Please be really creative with these!
• The Gate is passed down from Ravager parent to child, so the other parent does not need to also be a Ravager. This depletes the parents parasite greatly and most Ravagers only have one child because of it.
• There has to be some magic that could have removed the parasite, or some ritual. But it grants some immunity to most ailments. There are sicknesses they can still get. AND anything the ravager had before they received the parasite (original ravagers) they still have. Such as diseases/missing limbs.

PHYSIOLOGY

Ravagers are humanoid in appearance and can have traits of just about any species, depending on what races they have introduced into their bloodline. While they started out as humans, because of their long lifespans and possible timelines they may have bred with many races. They can be any gender or body type and do not adhere to strict gender roles. Strength comes in all forms. A curvy seductress can be just as deadly as a bulky warrior or a scrawny psychopath. They revere cunning as equally as strength and either can apply to both genders. There are strategists, assassins, con artists as well as just up and front brawlers.  Some have no physical strength or talent for killing but are sharp of wit and can be useful to the clan/family as a whole.

• They wear scars with pride, some going so far as to decorate theirs as they do their Gate. Most of the older Ravagers can no longer gain scars in a normal way and may mutilate the wounds to keep their parasite from healing them. 
• Any humanoid race/species. (Not for MYO atm)

RARITIES

None. I want to keep them as open-ended as possible. At the moment there will be no cross-species or hybrids offered for MYO, aside from if you wanna give them pointy ears? This may change in the future.
