HAPPY NEW YEAR! I know its 6 days late but just wanted to say!
I hope its a completely restful year for all of you. no need for anything dramatic. just calm, peaceful serenity. thats all im wanting.
i cleaned my house, i got my blue and purple lights on. even got one of those starry ceiling projectors and a cuppa green tea. listening to chill beats while I COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY POUR MYSELF INTO THE MAGNUS ARCHIVES PODCAST. hot damn. that show has taken over MY LIFE in the past few months. around october I just fell head first into the magnus archives and i have not been able to crawl out of that deep, deep pit ever since. I've relistened to the show like 10 times. I dont even LIKE podcasts. this is my second podcast ever and the first one was The adventure zone, so mostly just a gaming podcast. TMA is an actual STORY i had no idea podcasts really did that, i thought they were all documentary type stuff where you just hear people talk about things they like. not really my jam.
ANYWAY, TMA took me by complete surprise. I love horror and i love dark darrrrrk stories, and i dunno if any of you know about my characters and their backstories here, but they have a similar type of darkness to them that TMA provides and I am OBSESSED.
I merely started listening to it because i saw people posting fanfics of interesting sounding characters and a cool vibe I like. thats it. i just wanted to read a fanfic or two, so i needed to listen to TMA in order to get the right context to appreciate these fics. WH-ELL let me tell you, i've now decimated every single fic i can find. and its still not enough.

i dont even think about my characters that much anymore, tma owns my bloody LIFE! Hell I even drew fanart for it! I DREW FANART! that just doesn't happen. I can never draw anything other than OCS, so this just... WOW.

I should make a character who throws their back out all the time. they live in a really active world and here they are just hobbling behind their peers, because they picked up their sword wrong or smthn. Their name will be Broke Back Berry.

ugh, been having the urge to write one offs of my characters and brief encounters or scenarios, but I am also having a hard time just fkkn doin it!
I really do wanna post more of my writing online, even though its probably a bad idea. I have so much written already. I got like 11 some odd books on the go... (but it already needs to be rewritten because my writing style hops around like a rabbit high on crack).
What do you do to motivate you to write, even short little bursts?
If I WERE to write more, is there any particular character or pairing I have that you'd be interested in reading about?
What is your fave type of tropes to see in writing?
I mean, would you even be interested in seeing actual writing from me, or are you simply here for the dubious character designs and bad art I pump out?
I find that I can handle small little snippets of writing, apposed to massive novels, when I read other people's writing. I dunno if that's just cuz of my adhd tho ahaha. do you like long or short snippets?
wishing luck and cool vibes to any of you also stuck under the heat dome these past few days. today is gonna be the hottest ahh. my poor hamster is not doing well already. im not worried about myself, but my little winnie is not meant for this kind of weather D: i dont have ac in my place and its hot all year round in my stuffy apartment. i dunno how to help her ahh. ive been putting items in the freezer that she uses, and then alternating them out. giving her watery foods and doing my best to keep her cool, but its not looking like enough yet.
i think if things get any worse imma have to fill a bathtub full of cold water and maybe put her bin cage in there so that its surrounded by cold water. i dunno how this is gonna fair. she wont be wet but i also dont wanna shock her with cold and hot all at once

anyway, I'm gonna try and crank out some art when the month starts! I find every year artfight helps me improve a bit because I just let loose and have fun with it. so we'll see what happens this year

Since I started using Toyhouse years ago, I've been avidly trying to keep my gallery strictly for the main/side character cast that are in my novels, but I'm starting to get antsy!
I have a lot of strange creatures/world building designs that I dunno where to put but I find toyhouse has really helped me world build and figure out these individual designs! So I figured I might upload them anyway, even if its gonna mess up my gallery with a bunch of random character junk that don't even show their faces in the books.
Technically they are 'characters' but they are also just world fillers that have absolutely no mention haha. I just wanna fill out this world a bit more, it helps me write!
Do you guys use Toyhouse for similar reasons?
I'm taking it one step at a time. So some of the stuff I post lately is gonna be like "whaaat? seriously whaaat?" I'm thinking I might upload actual environment designs too, since those could be considered 'characters' from a story building standpoint. It might also help me figure out how to draw environments if I have a character I need to impress in my gallery haha. Honestly I dont know if I confuse everyone with my character bios. I tend to go off on tangents and forget that I'm supposed to be just talking about that character, but I've started rambling about the world they live in and the way life is haha. If you've read any of my bios and were horribly confused because of this, I apologize!
Does anyone have any suggestions on whether I should make these separate characters or use some sort of tab system within specific characters that these environments belong to? Or maybe I shouldnt upload those to my gallery but put them in a World or something? I've just never seen people post a character thats actually a castle or a town stall before haha! Do you guys ever bother to look at tabs of characters?
ahh the creative bug has hit me hard recently. i need more skill to back up these thoughts, damn it!
