Eric assumes he killed Mortis and hasn't thought about him since. He doesn't care about the fact he potentially ruined the mans life, as he was intending to take it anyways.
Eric is the man that damaged Mortis' legs beyond saving. Although he lives a happy life now, he has a horrifying fear of the surface and has frequent nightmares as a result of the incident.
Only knowing Loretta from her job, Eric doesn't particularly like her. She's checked over his ship a few times, which Eric doesn't exactly enjoy. People being in his space is one thing, but looking through his ship? He's a real prick about that one.
Acquaintances. Loretta doesn't have much of an opinion of Eric due to them only talking during port checks. She has noticed he is oddly hostile when it comes to checking his boat but doesn't pay him much mind, just kind of thinks he's a bit of a jerk.
[son in law] now why you letting yourself get knocked up by my son
[father in law] it wasn’t on purpose 😢
[grandson] i’m too young and sexy to be a grandfather
[grandfather] *babbling that sounds a lot like “old man” repeatedly*
Kana's constant shadow in her life bothers Cecilia infinitely. If it were up to her, she'd be completely cut out of both her and her husband's lives. But she knows how much the safety of Misako matters, and that's the only reason she allows her to still know anything about their family.
She's never met Cecilia, and barely knows anything about her, but thinks that she isn't good enough for her son. A bakery isn't where her son belongs, he belongs in the same field as her - and married to someone in it, too, to keep her family line in science. She thinks they should get divorced.
Misako knows exactly what her grandmother did, and has for years. It scares her to live in the same home as someone as unstable as Kana, but she still does care and love her grandmother. She's just waiting for her to finally snap.
After the mistakes she made raising her own children, she thinks of Misako as a do-over. It's not like she's done very well, being quite neglectful to Misako, but she still thinks she's done a wonderful job raising her granddaughter.
Mac was never a very good father. In his youth, he was so focused on his own success, that when his sister died and Fabian became his responsibility... He pushed it off. He had never signed up for parenting and had no idea what to do - He was young, dumb, and irresponsible. Fabian grew up with babysitters as his only parents. It was only when Mac grew older did he notice the effect his actions had on his son. But at that point, it was far too late. He would give anything to go back and be a better father, and the guilt eats at him constantly. In the present, he attempts to make up for what he did to Fabian with gifts and constant attention - but what's done is done.
Fabian resents his father, and always has. When his moms were killed in a car accident, and his father took him in... Well, Mac never was a dad. Fabian indulged himself in everything but the real world, playing video games and doing anything but acknowledging the real world. He was never social, and his only form of approval from Mac was good grades. He never had a parental figure in him. When Mac finally came around, Fabian resented him even more. How can he only realize now how much his actions had hurt him, how can he have gone so many years not noticing how much Fabian was suffering? Nowadays, Fabian takes the money and gifts as free things. Nothing Mac will ever try can mend their nonexistent relationship.
Mac is a regular at the bar Miyumi works at! He can be annoyingly demanding but like.. he's interesting. He's cooled off the demands after Miyumi went nuts on him, seemingly respecting her more than he did initially, which made Miyumi see him in a different light. She went from dreading serving him to looking forward to seeing him. She thinks of him often and wants to see more of him...
Mac's first impression of Miyumi was just another customer service employee for him to vaguely boss around. However, after being told off, he cooled down with the demands. He enjoys her company and chats when she's tending the bar at the same time he's there. He's never been much for flirting - or dating, at all, - but he's considered asking her out too many times to count.
